Hey all,

First time posting, ordered 5/3 for a MY LR, DBM. Most of you have great SAs that keep you posted! I ordered out of Peabody, MA and still waiting on a date, it previously showed 6/18 - 6/30 but as of last week has remained on 6-9 weeks. I ended up emailing my SA today and their response was without a VIN they wont have any updates 😭 . In my experience i got a lot more from Carmax than i did trading into Tesla, i ended up selling early to save money and a higher trade in value, now it's just impatiently waiting for my car! haha
Hey,
I also ordered out of Peabody (on 4/20). No updates from my SA although my estimated delivery is 5 - 9 weeks from order which means tomorrow in theory. I got a quote from Carvana for current car which was $2000 higher than Tesla trade-in offer. Haven't sold yet because of the uncertainty of the MY delivery date. I'm also getting a bit impatient!

Are you sure about that? So if I click "CONFIRM" to my loan details, they will take money out?
I haven't entered any bank info, though, so how is that possible?
Obviously, Tesla won't be able to transfer funds out of your bank account if you haven't added your bank information yet. I remember when I applied, I clicked confirm and the next step was to provide my bank information. Once I did that, the deposit amount was withdrawn two days later.

My delivery range is June 17-30 and I'm away on vacation June 12-27th. :(

Hope they can hold it a few days, would love to have it before then. Also nervous they're going to wake up and lower my trade in value after 30 days. Getting above MSRP for my 4 year old super duty, but crazy stuff is happening in truck world right now.
Everything I've heard is that they won't "hold" it for you. See my post from yesterday -- the delivery specialist emphasized that when you're matched to a VIN, you have to be ready to take delivery within 3 days. That means getting all of your financing and trade-in in order and completed. However if you look at the master spreadsheet, you do see it's more like 5-7 days between VIN acquisition and delivery. But once your car is ready to be delivered, you don't have much time. And there's not a lot the delivery center can do about it. If you don't take delivery, the system will just unmatch your VIN and you get put in the back of the line.

That's not correct. You provide payment details when setting up delivery. I'm approved through Tesla financing and got a lower rate after emailing for them to shop around. There were no inquiries on my credit, and I plan on paying around $15k down, which was not taken out of my account (didn't even provide one yet and will likely try to do a cashiers check).

I also asked my SA about switching to outside financing and he said that I could easily. Basically you're confirming you agree to the terms of the contract if you were to take delivery of the vehicle as someone already replied earlier to you in the thread.

Reactions: suprax and UCF13!
But why would the RNs be random? Wouldn't there be a risk of generating two duplicate random numbers? Sequential makes more sense, especially if they need to trace a defect to a particular batch of parts or orders.
Supply Chain Quality tracking would not be tied only to a customer order number on a front facing system. My experience is Aerospace, but auto has similar SCQ track and trace methodologies.

Random RN is fine as long as they do a duplicate check at generation and maybe even at row (record) insertion time.

You cannot provide your down payment via cashier's check. Once you're matched to a VIN and final payment is required, you'll be able to pay your down payment online. They won't deliver unless any down payment is already paid (this is what the delivery specialist told me yesterday).

Also ordered to Peabody. I placed my order on 4/2 from San Francisco (where I was living at the time - with schedule to Peabody). SA said i'll have my VIN mid-may (nothing), someone from Peabody called me two weeks ago on a Thursday and said are you around this weekend for delivery (cancelled via text on Saturday morning), an SA in Peabody said expect delivery the following week (nothing), now my original SA said June 8th. Website has been saying June 16-30th.

I'm headed out of the country for 10 days starting June 9th ...smdh

That's a bummer if so...I don't want to be waiting for an ACH back for $15k on Tesla's timeline if I were to reject delivery...

Wonder if this is something else that SA's have a different answer for as well.

When did you order each? I think you and I have the same order date but different configs. How do you know your manufacture date? I'm curious if mine is close to yours. My SA here in Denver has not been very helpful. I am supposed to pickup at the Littleton Service Center and haven't heard anything about home delivery.
Same situation, in Denver area and haven't heard anything about home delivery.
