Current Delivery Times

So from what others have commented; you only get current pricing if the Delivery Specialist can transfer the inventory order to your order. The problem is, if you don't want the car and reject the delivery you go to the back of the line...
At this point a risk i guess i am willing to take. Its more a matter of getting my current pricing, would i have to ask the SA to do it or can i grab it and spend the 100 and then switch it

Either or from what I understand. The risk of asking the SA to do it before making the order is the car might get purchased by someone else before you can talk to them and they can action on it.

I received couple of messages,

1. The estimated on your MYTESLA account shows "Estimated delivery: June 19-June 30), you will soon get a text message as soon as you are able to schedule delivery!
2. Tesla update - Have you considered trading in a vehicle.....

Any possible timeline on next updates?

I didint get the first one, but alot of use seemed to have gotten the second one yesterday afternoon

In 2019 I bought a used Model S down in San Antonio and the delivery was insanely smooth.
Just go in, show ID, they hand you the keys, and you can drive it off (of course all the paperwork was done before via FedEx because TX).
Best experience ever! Even the used car buying process wasn't as bad as expected and happened a heck of a lot quicker than buying the MY new.
One thing that seems different in TX from Cali is that Sales Tax is not listed in the pricing breakdown (which is also what the loan goes by I assume). In CA everything was rolled into the loan, here it looks like I'll have to make a large payment to county when I register it? Seems quite strange to expect people to make a large payment like that, which could be a surprise to many. Price of Car, Down Payment, all the line items, but no Sales Tax anywhere.. For me, with the high TX sales tax (still lower than Los Angeles, but not by a whole lot) this is a cool $5k.. I'm prepared to pay this cash to county, but this could be a nasty surprise to many not anticipating it.

I also have a Texas order (no VIN yet). The quoted monthly price on the loan agreement does not seem to include sales tax. I'm operating under the assumption that it's going to be updated once I have a VIN assigned and I'm asked for final payment.

Just for a data point...I don't have a trade in, got the text about adding one yesterday, and do NOT have a VIN today...at least not yet. Still sitting at July 19-Aug 8 where I have been for weeks. no signature yet, so as a reminder, I ordered 5/15 and completed profile 5/17.
Same here. Received a text about adding a trade-in yesterday. Received a call from my SA asking if I would be willing to take a Model Y matching my config but with a tow hitch. Told him yes. While on the phone with him making the vehicle assignment, got the BLue button to accept Tesla Vision and right afterwards saw the VIN. This afternoon, got the automated text to schedule my delivery. Delivery set for 6/16 @11am. Vehicle is in transit. Not a demo vehicle. Excited for next week!

It was Tesla. She emailed me. She was trying to confirm my address because apparently Tesla owes me monies and they’re cutting me the check.
Make sure you confirm she won't lose her job if she accidentally typed one more 0 at the end of the refund amount. (The scammers always do this and "get fired" :D)

Joking aside, congrats on getting some money back. It's not always easy to get some obvious and simple things done by Tesla without drama.

There’s a 99% chance you have to pay the new price and lose your $100 if you have a custom. It’s the price Tesla wants you to pay to speed up delivery. Even if they find the same config, if you go through SA, it will be gone by the time they get back to you. Happened to me twice.

Sales tax will not populate even after VIN. I don't believe sales tax is something that you can lump into your loan if going through Tesla. Someone can correct me, but I think you're on your own. Texas is a franchise dealer state. Tesla cannot sell you a car in Texas, so they can't pay taxes on your behalf like other dealers can. You're technically buying it in California and Telsa is shipping it to you in Texas for delivery. However, your Sales Advisor can probably give you a rough estimate of what that will cost and how to deal with sales tax.

Tesla will send you self-registration packet that you will then need to take to your County Tax Assessors office to pay the taxes and other fees due to the state. I don't know how a Tesla loan would do that without being able to send you a check to cover taxes and fees (which I have my doubts they'd be able to do).

From my understanding and experience, if you want TTL lumped into the loan you can get your own financing from somewhere that can issue you a check for the TTL.

I'm still in the process of delivery (scheduled for 6/17) so I don't know all this for sure. Personally, I've accounted for my estimated tax bill and reduced my down payment to accommodate it.

Welcome to Texas... yee-haw? 🤠

Just a quick addition, as a fellow Texan, if you lease this is a non issue since Tesla is technically the owner of the car. I opted to lease this time around and the sales tax is included in the payment due at delivery.

Is it paid as a lump sum up front? We leased a car last year (live in California) and I was surprised that taxes are paid each month. So when our county tax rate when up a few months ago, so did our lease payment.

I am in TX and I was explained that the sales tax is not included in what’s financed because the sales tax is paid at the time of registration at the County office.

I was told this. Just that I’m responsible of taxes myself. The taxes depends on the cost of the car and if you’re trading is the difference between the cost and the trade-in amount.

Part of the text I received for tomorrow's delivery, it says "Submit payment via your Tesla Account. Please refrain from bringing a check if possible as this will delay the experience." Why does it matter to them whether I pay now, or 21 hours from now in-person? Is it because they want to do a full contactless experience?
