Bummer part in Colorado is that there is NEVER existing inventory.
I got an inventory car in Colorado Springs on June 18th. I use "shift-<refresh>" to refresh the page. A plain "<refresh>" wouldn't show new cars. Also, I noticed that batches of cars tend to arrive around midnight. Refreshing at other times was almost pointless. Mine was part of a batch of 10. At first I felt like you that it was pointless because there were never any cars. But once I saw the first car show up, I increased my refresh efforts by a factor of 10 or 100.

I used the "Buy it now" option to get the inventory car because I knew that if I waited for the SA to transfer it then the car was sure to be gone. This meant sacrificing the $100 deposit I had on the car on order. But don't make the same mistake I did. As soon as you order the new car make sure you get the referral set up. I lost my referral because they said I had to transfer it before I accepted delivery. That is nasty because there was no way for me to know the referral was missing until I accepted delivery.

You may even be able to get to the inventory page from a referral link but I was going there so often and refreshing like crazy that I didn't bother with the extra referral link step each time. I had erroneously assumed the referral would transfer over.

Good luck!

At least your SA responds. Mine and his super have gotten two "priority messages" from chat to contact me. Not a dang word... our EDD slipped again too.
Sorry to hear that... unfortunately mine has gone radio silent too... I called the shop today and just got the generic message and the same thing from the chat agents :( getting really annoying...

Just checked mine... same thing same VIN series 255 and same September EDD LOL not holding my breath... knowing my luck that could totally be accurate.. the are assigning me a VIN that they are going to do as a first run out of Austin and its gonna have all kinds of "character" ROFL

Update: Tried to call my SA again about the VIN but no response and same generic "we have no more info than you" from the dealership🙄 #annoying

it would be one thing if we were totally un-educated, but we all know at this point they have a way of getting more information on the "situation" than they let on. I swear, if I start hearing "we can't GPS the car so it must still be at the factory" I am going to loose my mind 🤯

I am at least happy to hear all of us that got screwed are getting VIN's.

One odd note, I did NOT have to accept the Tesla Vision button again. Did anyone else get the button back?

Glad to hear you got a VIN! I didn't get the magic blue button again for Tesla Vision. I just got an e-mail saying my VIN is now available.

Now that you mentioned it... My first VIN was...5YJYGDEE0MF209xxx My second VIN prefix was 5YJYGDEE1MF225xxx. it looks like a check digit changed, and it still appears to be coming from Fremont. Hoping it doesn't get delivered end of quarter, and hope it isn't an alpha test out of Austin (though would be interesting if the castings came from there...)

Yeah I'll gladly take a car with the mega castings front and back built in Fremont but not a whole car from Austin... im an early adopter but we all know better than to want the first factory production runs lol, I've had enough drama thank you very much.

Interesting... Mine is EE4 I don't know what my full VIN was before so I can't compare. I never thought I would need to save it for comparison ROFL #hindsight

I haven't been able to contact my sales advisor for awhile now so I decided to just drive up there today and ask my questions. The SA I talked to said that he isn't showing or expecting any deliveries to their location (Colorado Springs) until at least the third week of July. Didn't see a VIN assigned to me but did say he has a rough delivery date to dealership of August 3rd but that I shouldn't hold my breath on that. My order was placed on 5/21.

Aaaand the wait goes on fo all of us. ☹️

The long journey is over! I got my Tesla two days ago (they sure did wait to the last day in June 😂) I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! My delivery specialist kept me updated the entire time throughout the shipping process. I waited approximately two weeks from when it arrived in Honolulu to finally get it shipped on a barge to my island. All the frustration left when I got behind the wheel. Just wanted to do a quick check in and update on my fantastic ride!
Mahalo!

Do stick around though! Especially here on the Current Delivery Times thread. It’s very active and there’s actually some good info passed around. For instance like @elguapo mentioned, EV-Tesla is a great place to find inventory cars. Much easier than clicking around the crap Tesla website. Now that’s an actual hack there for you 😉

I did watch your video too, by the way. Interested to see how your mods turn out. But it would be remiss of me to not try to convince you to ditch the wheel spacers. For the sake of your brand new car, please don’t do it.
Careful, it's not ev-tesla, lol.. try it.

Finally received MY Perf. Here's story: Ordered 5/27 and, like most of you here, had my EDD dates bounce and almost no returned messages from SA. . I'm in SoCal and found a MYPerf in the blue color I wanted in Denver on 6/18. Paid the $100 (new order) and was told I could pick it up to avoid $1,000 delivery. Next day was told it was on a train to be delivered to my house on 6/22 and I was stuck with $1,000 fee. I'm no logistics expert but I'm guessing its not on a bullet train so I doubted this TAT of 4 days. 6/24 I went to the Brea mall store and was told it hadn't left Colorado. DOH! DOH! Went home dejected and checked existing inventory again. Found the same MY perf in same color in SoCal. Cancelled Denver order and immediately plopped down another $100 for my THIRD order and snatched it up. BOOM instantly a VIN appeared. Immediately drove back to the Brea mall and spoke to an SA, Ben, that was amazingly helpful. He checked and saw the car was actually on the ground here in OC and that it had passed inspection. He started making phone calls while I was there and was able to secure delivery for the next day! WTF? The car arrived and the performance model is absolutely stunning with the rims and tires. The acceleration will rip yo face off. Story is already too long but key take-aways: 1.) If you have a physical Tesla store nearby and you have a question or need an update go to the store and talk to someone face to face. These SAs are overwhelmed but they do want to get you in your car. 2.) Check existing inventory everyday and if you find the specs you want jump on it. (You will be out $100 on your original order) Finally, I have not cancelled my original order yet. It is:
  • Long Range All-Wheel Drive
  • Deep Blue Metallic Paint
  • 20’’ Induction Wheels
  • All Black Premium Interior
  • Five Seat Interior
  • Autopilot
EDD jumped ahead a bit to 7/29 - 8/18. I do not have a VIN. SA said if I had a friend/family that wanted it I could transfer it to them. Not sure how true that is or what would need to be done, but if anyone is interested in California and has a date much later than mine, I'm willing to transfer it provided it is indeed possible. Cheers.

I cannot stress the importance of dealing with the SAs face-to-face, respectfully. Put down your phones, and engage the social skills.
