I've started to ask myself "at which point will I give up waiting for this car?"... I feel like it would be at week 11/12 of my wait. Currently I am 2 days past the official 8 week point. While I obsess over things easily, I have a habit of forgetting or moving on to the next obsession pretty fast. So my own "thin red line" is feeling like around August 21st-28th I'm going to really start putting thought into other cars out there in order to "itch this scratch".
My thoughts exactly!

So if I order a MYP today I can get it in 7-9 weeks???? Does anyone else think that’s crazy. Also why does the chat agent keep trying to sell me solar when they can’t even tell me when I’m going to get a car I order two months ago?
I wasn't aware there was a chat feature. I could have sworn that I checked before and didn't see it for orders.

My SA was Dalton but he wasn’t in when walked in last week with my daughter to sit in a Y and fantasize. Another SA told me at the time when I told him my date was early September, he said that would most likely be a solid date. Maybe today I’ll take my wife up there to speak with someone asking about the disappearing date.
I like Dalton but only met him one time. Ximena is my SA who responds to my texts. Let me know what they say if you go up there. I have both my little boys for the next few days so Daddy day care can't make it up there until the weekend probably.

Everybody in the Air Force has a Model Y, they issue them when you complete OTS. They used to issue Model 3s but that caused an issue with golf clubs so they had to upsize. (Ok, that's the setup for your free shot!)

In all seriousness, I work on a Navy base now and I hardly ever see them, either on base or even in the local area. I live in one of the strangest places in America. It's a little peninsula surrounded by water on three sides so there's NO through-traffic, no cities, and DC sits at the top of the peninsula like a cork on a bottle. So we're totally isolated down here yet only 65 miles from DC and it's like living in the middle of Kansas surrounded by farms. I see a Tesla maybe twice a week, max. And there's TONS of money here because it's a flight test and Naval aviation procurement and program office base, heavily weighted to officers and higher rated civil servants--engineers, program managers, folks like that. But for whatever reason hardly any Teslas around.

How funny - you wouldn't by chance work at NAVAIR in Patuxent River, MD?

I ordered my Model Y some time in May and kept delaying filling in all the other details. I did that in July and along with filling in my details changed the car's color. Every day when I log in the delivery date keeps changing from a range of dates in August and September, to October, to no date. Every day the date keeps changing. Is this what other people have experienced?

yes, prepare for a rollercoaster of EDD up's and down's.

Tesla really should put a disclaimer on their site that before you place an order you should be checked out by a cardiac specialist to ensure your healthy enough to deal with the stress.

Just for more data points:
My EDD has been ALL OVER THE PLACE for the past week, including a brief stint into "September" (or maybe "October" I can't remember) this weekend. I was getting very discouraged until I got my VIN this morning. My delivery range right now is right in line with the end of my window when I ordered (1-13wks). I also survived the switch to "September" last quarter, which I assume is similar to what is happening today. Keep the faith! #teamblue

Edited to add: now I am constantly refreshing my page to make sure my VIN doesn't go away... 🤪

Same I’ve already started researching/checking out other cars just in case. Hopefully won’t be necessary!

ahhhh.... so now i see i am not alone in the land of EDD Hell. When I ordered on May 31, the EDD was two weeks. I've been keeping score; tesla teased me on July 15 with a 2 week EDD! Now October.... but I'm holding out hope that there is a VIN sneaking around the corner so I can get in the car soon. My charger is installed and energized.

New rule: i'm allowed to look at the EDD all the time but I'm not allowed to complain about it. So, this morning, when i saw october (into the next quarter!!), i observed "look at all the extra time i have now to prepare for delivery!!".

If it's on the internet, it has to be true, right?

Everyone meet mama smurf!!! She’s finally here.
It’s true what they say everything washes away the moment it gets here. “Refreshing the Tesla page 1000 times who?!”

I’ll be back to show you guys the mods I’m installing tomorrow!

*Front lip kit
*Rear spoiler
*20 inch Vossen HF2 Wheels
*Ceramic Tint

PS. A bird already pooped on her 😖😩☠️ But the hubbz said it’s good luck. 🍀

October folks, this screams of an ERP / MRP Regen - especially right over a month end, and a Regen that still in process.

Regens typically take a long time to process, keep the faith.

One possibility (if it is not truly, all orders move into Q3) ...

In the manufacturing / supply chain world, there is the process of an ERP/MRP Regeneration. Regardless of the system (SAP, WarpDrive, Oracle MFG, whatever) under the hood will be a style of Manufacturing Resource Planning.

Basically the goal of these systems / logic is to align the supply of materials / parts / sub systems etc with output demand and scheduling of production. The goal is to maximize efficiency, maximize utilization and realization of labour / machining / production resources and well ... profits and delivery times.

Normally these plans are run at some repeating period (real time, nightly, weekly, monthly) in what's called a net change mode. Net change basically keeps revising the plan using previous inputs and any changes. This usually preserves a history of the plan.

Regen mode wipes the slate clean. Typical scenarios for a Regen are when errors in the data are piling up and affecting the production schedules, disruption of major critical supply chain(s) and major disruption to production capacities (say a critical process is down, such as a vital machine) or you run a style of production that is very one off (such as building very complex things) or very long lead time. Think airplanes, submarines, ships or nuclear plants etc

In a normal company, this mass move of dates for everyone would be a signal that a regen was done. But this is Tesla, so maybe someone spilled coffee in the data center or they are tacitly acknowledging everyone gets deliveries in Q3.

So Oder date was June 23 for MYP white/white with pretty much everything. Was expecting a vin by the end of the month early this month
But this morning the EDD went from 2 weeks out to 7-8 weeks. Has anyone else saw that? I know people have had them disappear but… it seams the LR is taking longer in production times rather then the P
