Exactly what I was told when I called earlier this week.
Yeah, same. My EDD today is 8/22-9/9. It was 8/20,8/21 past few days with end date 9/10. I called the 888 number and asked if they could give me a soft date that people online have been talking about. He said Tesla has a tool that gives them a better estimate than the EDD. And magically he said it’ll be in the middle of the range for a VIN, say 8/28 or 8/29. And then 2 weeks for delivery. So now if my EDD moved out a few days my VIN moves too, and life goes on. But it’ll be fall in Colorado soon and I can drink pumpkin lattes in my tom brady men’s uggs. Cheerio!

my EDD as of now is 8/19-9/8 and soft date is 8/28, which is in the middle of the range.

Amazing that some of us are here waiting for over 3 months and they give you a VIN, you reject it, and they magically find you another one. Insanity!

I am super happy for you and very glad it worked out - not upset at you at all 😁 Just so hard to understand!
I don’t disagree with you at all. Orders should be first in first out but it definitely doesn’t seem like it.

I've had an August/September EDD since mid July. Recently the dates have been going out/in a day here or there and the window closing, down to just 11 days.

Today at 5:30PM EDT I received an email from Tesla, "Final Balance is Now Ready".

Opened the link, had to accept the Tesla Vision disclaimer, and then it asked me to set up payment details, which I didn't.

I think i clicked on My Account and saw the VIN was there (251***). However my EDD is now OCTOBER. Wow. Not what I was expecting. I also find it odd that I now have a VIN that far out.

Then, I thought, oh is it going to be a car from Texas? According to the VIN decoders it's a 2021 from Fremont.

I guess the only bright side, maybe I'll be able to get the Federal tax credit if Tesla requalifies.

It could be one of two things. First, any change to config like that puts you in the back of the line. Second, the "December" status could just be temporary until the plan the next sprint and get a revised date for you. What was your original order date? If not too many days have passed then it could be your EDD will not change much since you went with popular interior color. But if your OD was more than a week or two ago then you are probably delayed a few weeks at least with that change.

Everything will speed up once the Gigafactory in Texas gets up and running full production.
Original date was 6/21/2003

Hey guys delivery day update.

Finally picked up our Tesla Model Y7 white/black/tow/19inwheels after almost 4months wait! (116 days to be exact)

Delivery was scheduled for 12pm, but I had work commitments and only made it out there at 1pm! Given the traumatic purchase/wait process we took to get here, all I could think of on the way there is Tesla giving away our car. I definitely need therapy after this process.

We got there and to our surprise there was nothing contactless about the process at all. We were escorted inside, had to wait about 20mins for a delivery agent to connect with us. It didn’t help that it was around lunch I guess.

Nice delivery guy came out and told us the car had just been unloaded off the truck and the detailing team hadn’t got to it! We waited an extra 20-30mins, worked out as the baby needed to be fed.

They then pulled the car out front, where to my surprise they asked me to look at it first before doing any other paperwork, signing any agreements or making a payment (we hadn’t completed any steps on the site). I know some people reported being rushed and not being able to do a full walkthrough before taking delivery. I guess we lucked out and could have even installed accessories if we wanted to.

Build Quality was great. Nothing serious could be found, a couple of gaps towards the lower part of the bumper molding that looked wider than I expected, but the service tech came out and we compared them to other cars parked and they were within reason. There was a small scratch on a door handle which was polished by the team. I went through a checklist and happy to report all checked out. 235XXX VIN with bio mode, no PPF, No mudflaps.

After inspection we went back inside, and signed all the paperwork, got our keys, set up our app. it was very reminiscent of the dealer experience since there was a lot time spent with an agent and paperwork to complete (ps this is my first vehicle purchase in PA).

Drive home was great. Having driven the Kona EV to the delivery center I was quickly appreciative of how much roomier the model Y is. Got the car home to our city home, and now trying to reorganize the garage to make it fit better.

To be honest I haven’t had the time to explore the dashboard and other features yet, but with a storm fast approaching I am more concerned about it staying out of the inclement weather. Hopefully tomorrow will be better weather and I can put the accessories on.

thank you to all the other members who have stuck through this process with us. It has not been easy 116days! I hope all of you get to this point and move on to explore and share other experiences.

I can’t promise that I will stick on this thread, but I will sure be watching it and offering support when I can.
That’s a beauty! Glad that your delivery went smoothly and the car met your quality expectations. Go #teamwhite

A lot of people are getting weird EDD after the VIN is assigned. Give it 2-3 hours and you’ll have a current date. Congrats.
