I sold my 2019 M3 SR+ with 11K miles to Carvana in July. They offered $40K and I paid $41K + taxes. Carvana offered $38.5K. It took Carvana 4 weeks to put it on their website and it was listed as Sale Pending immediately. It just sat at their processing facility in Indiana. I kept it on my phone app and checked the location every day out of curiosity. I kept receiving notifications as they let the battery deplete to zero where it stayed for at least two weeks. Last week the car was at a Carvana store in Philly. Yesterday it was in Queens, NY.
What are they asking for it?

Walked into my local showroom last night and talked to one of the advisors about my EDD which has only moved back to a 28 day window after ordering in September. He said it looks like my order will leave the CA facility on November 17th a day befroe my EDD and I should have it a few days after. Even though it is more than a month away I am ok knowing some more concrete detail. It also goes along with predictions of others that MYP will becoming fast and heavy at the end of this month.

It was also nice to be able to see in some cars again know that they have all shown back up after the previous quarter models were sold. We are all getting so close and it will all be worth it in the end. EV is for sure the future of cars.

The LR was nice, initially I told myself that I didn't need the additional acceleration of the Performance and also justified it by not wanting a dedicated set of winter wheels/tires. The factory continentals were very poor in partial ice so I ended up buying a set of winters anyway.

I had 20k miles on it and never thought I'd get that much for it, but had to check out of curiosity. Since I was effectively able to get out from the car gaining every penny back that I put into it, I made the jump. The Performance was obvious this time as the price difference was down to $7k (was $10k when I ordered the LR) and I already have the winter setup.

Fresh warranty, zero miles, more zoom, smaller payment (due to more equity this time).
What tires did you have on your MYLR? 19” or 20”? I see Your location is also MN so your experience would be of much interest to me.

Since I have nothing to offer to the conversation on EDD's (see my sig for details, I update daily), I do want to report back on an observation regarding taillights from a recent trip to sunny Southern California, aka the land of a million Teslas. While driving on the 405 at night, I was behind two Model Ys which were driving perfectly side by side. As traffic slowed in front of them, as it does on the 405, both cars regened/braked and their taillights came on. One car had the old American taillight, and one had the new global taillight design. It was very cool to see them side by side in action! New brake lights now light up the entire half oval light fixture, while the old brake lights share the turn signal/LED strip. New lights turn signals are now amber-yellow as well, rather than red. Small details, I know, but pretty neat for an OCD type like me, who always wondered why it didn't used to light up the whole light ring when the brake lights came on.

And the LA trip was pretty great too! Southern California is noticeably ahead of the curve in terms of EV adoption. I see as many Model 3/Y driving as Corollas, RAV4s, Civics, and CR-Vs. A beautifully bizarre place, I almost miss it!

For everyone thinking about delaying for the (maybe) Federal tax credit, I'm confused. I read about it early, and if it passes, it should apply to all Teslas sold after May 24, 2021.

I also read after Jan 1, 2022 elsewhere, but I think that's for some non Tesla/GM (something about hitting the limit in the past).

Just wondering.

Means better air if you ask me. In nyc there’s maybe 1 Tesla for every 50 ICE and this is prob extremely underestimated

It's white... not super obvious from my signature but attempted to have text match paint for each vehicle ;)

My buddy who ordered a plaid had an assigned SA call him within like 2 days. I'm over 60 days and only after holding the general Tesla number even learned the name of my supposed SA. But of course I have no idea how to contact him. I tried [email protected] but it bounced back.
Have you tried emailing [email protected] ? Also, my SA there was Patrick Dunn, and his email is [email protected], so you can shoot him an email too... He's been there a while and I always thought you could really talk to any SA and they could help you...

I do see a lot of Teslas here in the NYC area. BQE, LIE, Belt/Southern State/Cross Island, Grand Central/Northern State, Van Wyck. Just around my neighborhood in LI, there’s a lot of Tesla owners. I see them all the time in Brooklyn also.

Every time I see a MY, white with inductions, I wonder where my MY is.

So after 155 days, we finally picked up my wife's Model Y on Saturday the 16th. The staff at Devon, PA were all very friendly and we did not feel rushed at all. Our appointment was at 11am and we were driving away at noon. And the only reason it took that long was because my wife spent about 30 minutes asking questions to the delivery specialist. In fact, he helped her pair her phone with the car, and went through a bunch of the common settings that she should know.

We walked around the car and everything looked good to us. The only tiny issue we had was there was some powdery residue on the back seat, and the delivery guy promptly grabbed a cloth and some cleaner and wiped it up.

All in all, a very positive experience! I'm sure it's totally worth the wait and super fun to drive but my wife hasn't let me drive it yet...

Hello friends! One week away from FINALLY getting the car! Seems surreal to be honest after such a long wait.

Was wondering how many of you are going to get PPF and/or window tinting? Is it worth it? Definitely going to get the tints but still on the fence about PPF. If I do it, it would be the hood, fender, bumper and mirrors. Already got a quote for $1800 for XPEL XR Plus NanoCeramic film. I think for NYC that’s a pretty good price for a very reputable shop.

Let’s see some more VIN numbers!

If your model 3 has FSD, you might do better just on that alone. Last I checked, Tesla doesn't give you any extra for a trade in with FSD over one without it, but the third parties will.
Mine does. Tesla actually said on the earnings call yesterday that they do value it.
Of course trade in value varies by region. But I’m currently in the waiting area at CarMax finalizing my sale to them. The offered me $41K for a 2019 SR+ with 21.6K miles on it. Only option it had was MSM paint. So $100 more than I paid for it. Beat the next closest offer by $1500 which was a Honda dealer.
Woah! Mine is 2018, long range, 23k miles on it. Now i'm excite to start getting values.
Definitely check! Tesla came in 7500 lower than CarMax for me ($5400 lower when you offset the 6% sale tax difference in MD).

When I ordered in July, Tesla offered 33k while CarMax offered 35k, so at that point I thought I’d not bother with the difference. But, now Tesla’s offer was 34.9k while CarMaxs was 42.4K, so I couldn’t justify my inclination to not bother 😅
I will, thanks!
Tesla offered $41k
Vroom $46.5k
Carmax $58k.
Holy smokes!

Congrats! Also, wow, a May order just now getting a delivery? That's insane!

You're so close!

In my personal opinion, tint is a definite yes, including a clear ceramic tint on windshield, possibly roof. I need to see if I can live with an aftermarket roof shade or not before considering roof glass tint. I'll get some Rally Armor mudflaps for protection but most likely skip PPF. Hood PPF is a maybe (metal is expensive, so I'd like to protect it). But bumper covers, mirrors (skullcaps) are plastic and most likely will get replaced at some point in the car's hopefully long life. I just feel weird about protecting pieces of plastic that are designed to be easily replaced.
