Since I have nothing to offer to the conversation on EDD's (see my sig for details, I update daily), I do want to report back on an observation regarding taillights from a recent trip to sunny Southern California, aka the land of a million Teslas. While driving on the 405 at night, I was behind two Model Ys which were driving perfectly side by side. As traffic slowed in front of them, as it does on the 405, both cars regened/braked and their taillights came on. One car had the old American taillight, and one had the new global taillight design. It was very cool to see them side by side in action! New brake lights now light up the entire half oval light fixture, while the old brake lights share the turn signal/LED strip. New lights turn signals are now amber-yellow as well, rather than red. Small details, I know, but pretty neat for an OCD type like me, who always wondered why it didn't used to light up the whole light ring when the brake lights came on.
And the LA trip was pretty great too! Southern California is noticeably ahead of the curve in terms of EV adoption. I see as many Model 3/Y driving as Corollas, RAV4s, Civics, and CR-Vs. A beautifully bizarre place, I almost miss it!
