Well, today was a total emotional rollercoaster. Got a call from my SA at 12:30, asking me if I would like to pick up my car today or tomorrow?! I told him I would love to, but I needed time to arrange my financing, sell my car, etc, and could I have until Monday? He said he would check with the delivery center and get back to me. We got off the phone and I quickly started arranging to sell my car and getting my financing in place.
He called back an hour later to confirm that I could pick up on Monday, but at that point, I was pretty confident I could have everything settled by today and be ready to pick up tomorrow. I asked if we could just go ahead and schedule for Saturday, and if I didn't have everything ready to go within the next couple of hours, I would let him know and we could bump it out to Monday. He suggested we should do it the other way around - schedule for Monday, and then we could move it to Saturday when I was ready.
So at around 2:45, I messaged him to say I had everything ready and wanted to move to Saturday. No response. Messaged him again an hour later. Still no response.
So about an hour ago, I tried calling the delivery center directly, but my call was routed to a call center. I told the guy I wanted to reschedule my appointment and gave him my RN number. When he looked it up, he said my car isn't ready yet (still needs to be cleaned, etc), so I wouldn't be able to pick it up tomorrow. I gave him the whole back story, and that I'd been told it was ready today, and he said he'd reach out to the delivery center to verify and let me know if I could schedule for tomorrow. Still waiting to hear back.
Definitely glad I did some research ahead of time on selling my car and financing. Today was utter chaos, but it was slightly less chaotic than it would have been otherwise. Now just hoping I'm able to pick up this weekend, so I can have some time to enjoy it before going back to work on Monday.

So on a whim, I just decided to open up my CreditKarma app to check my credit. No idea why I decided to do it, but I did. My Equifax was down a 4 points, but my Transunion dropped 89 points! I was, obviously, not too happy. I pay everything on time or early. And I just sold a rental property so my debt to income should have been even less. I go in to check my report and "potentially negative" pops up. A loan I paid off in September says closed, 30 days past due. Looking on the report, it showed every month from January to August, what was due, what was paid, and then $0 for late fee. In September it showed that the entire balance was paid in full. October, nothing due, nothing paid, nothing late. Same in November. December is showed nothing due, nothing paid, but 30 days late. So I just got off the phone with 2 of the 3 reporting agencies and was told it could take up to 30 days to fix. I have to call my bank on Monday to try to get them to remove it more rapidly. As much as I want my car, now I need it to hold off until I get this taken care of. If my VIN gets assigned in the next week, I will know Elon is messing with me purposefully (I also will be out of town next week....so it would be a double whammy).

Holy crap that is terrifying! I would hope your bank or someone would be able to give you a letter in the meantime explaining the error?

That sucks. When I paid off my mortgage in full my credit score took a big hit as well. They didn’t like that I didn’t have any debt. Fortunately it didn’t matter because I wasn’t planning on a new loans and eventually it bounced back.

Me too. When I paid off my mortgage a decade ago, my score dropped. My credit report always says because I do not haVe a “range of credit products such as a car loan or mortgage, lenders may not know my ability to repay loans”. It does not bother me. The credit score are designed to lure people to take out loans to chase their credit score. I am not in the game anymore. I locked our credit files and threw away our keys. It is above 800, so I don’t care. I am more worried about the federal governments credit rating (SSN/bonds), my Bank and brokerages credit rating, and also my employer’s credit rating! I wish I had a higher credit rating when I was young and needed the best credit cards and lowest interest rates!

So…. I got a call yesterday…. Your car is being loaded on the transport. Should be leaving Colorado Springs by 4:00 pm. I’m in Santa Fe, NM…. About 5 hours if you’re doing arround the speed limit. The Delivery Specialist said she wasn’t sure if the guy would attempt deliver that evening or not but that I should expect a call from him shortly. The the disclaimer… “These transport guys are crazy sometimes”. Well, no car yet at 7:33 AM and no call from the delivery driver…. Hoping to see it today and will have some pretty serious questions if I don’t…

On a good note. The was a wind storm in Colorado Springs a few days ago. A few friends there still don’t have power. The wind was near 100 mph in some parts of the citY from what I understand. At any rate, the storm cracked the drivers side front window on my car. The delivery team went over the car with a fine tooth comb and found no other damage. What is the good news in that you ask? Well, Tesla actually reached out and let me know about the incident. Asked if I’d except the car anyway and had already placed an order for the new window to be delivered to the Nambe (Santa Fe) service location. I was pleasantly surprised that they were being proactive and actually gave me the opportunity to refuse delivery until he repair was made at the Colorado Springs site. Then the Nambe service center called me proactively to arrange a service appointment because since I’d not yet accepted the vehicle they could not contact me through the app. At which point they schedule the install of my Homelink module and the mounting and balancing of a spared wheel and tire I have. They are throwing in the TPMS valves stem at no charge. WTF, is this a Lexus dealer? Progress oon the customer service side? maybe…

So excited…. Hope we see it today. Can’t imagine why wouldn’t but its been a wild ride so I’m holding my breath for the next shoe to drop like the driver had an accident or there was a breakdown of lord knows what else….

One more funny thing. In my app, the “accept delivery” button is nonfunctional as is the “delivery appointment” button. So, worst case they drop the car, take my trade and I can’t drive the car because I won’t be able to unlock it Since the app is not functioning? I don’t know what’s gonna happen but my overactive imagination is turned up to 11 at this point. I have a note in tot he delivery team but it’s Saturday so who knows!

Congrats! Maybe this is the west coast push in full force.

There you are! Hello! I seem to remember you were the one who had mentioned at some point that Nambe was no longer doing deliveries? I confirmed this via text with Tesla a few days ago. I wonder why they stopped doing delivery.

They had texted me a while back and said the delivery center was being moved to Nambe, which would've worked out better for us. But then I noticed on my MVPA that we got moved back to Colorado Springs and are now paying the carrier direct fee. No biggie, just thought it was interesting that they were like "hey look! We're moving your delivery location for your convenience! hurray!" Then magically "you're back to CO, but we're not going to tell you....." Good times.

Wishing you all the best luck with your delivery. I'm currently waiting for them to switch my order to Tesla Finance so I can get that application done, had selected cash becuase of the long lead times. Hopefully they get that knocked out soon for us, already got insurance done and placed the order for floor mats I had been holding out on.

There was a problem with the pueblo wanting to charge exorbitant excise tax on deliveries. You should not pay the delivery fee if you’re going to COS to pick it up. They are delivering to me for free for some reason.

Thanks for the info. Yeah I remember reading that you were getting free delivery. We are having them deliver to our house. Although CO is gorgeous. Just can’t take that much time off from work at the moment. The fee didn’t bother us, we planned for it initially anyway.

Keep us posted on the progress and toss a post in the New Mexico Waiting Room thread if you’re interested :)

Wow that sucks. That being said, I doubt that swing is enough to kick you to a worse auto loan rate. We refinanced our house not long before applying for (and gettin approved) for a car loan. It was no issue in our case. Of course, I am not a banker, and no doubt it's good to keep on top of your credit report as a rule, I suspect you'd be fine getting the going rate for a car loan if you got a vin today. Anyway, hope it clears up soon in any case!
