For those of us who do not currently own a Tesla, as we see more and more current owners receive that elusive order email and begin to take delivery, I thought it would be helpful to get a handle on how many current owners are already in the process of receiving their Model 3.

The poll is simplified and would benefit from additional explanation in the replies below. Please share details on when you ordered, where you live, and if you became a Tesla owner before or after you placed your Model 3 reservation.

I have taken ownership of my Model 3. Reservation 4:45PM on 3/31 in Pasadena CA. I was not a Tesla owner at the time. We bought our Model S about 3 months after making the reservation. I got the configuration e-mail on 11-22 and took delivery on 12-26. I drove it for 9 days before taking it to the service center with my list of issues on 1-5. They have had it ever since. Well a week ago they shipped it to Buena Park for a very minor paint repair (about 2 square inches. I just got a text (20 minutes ago) that they expect the car back in Burbank on Thursday and that I MIGHT get it back then, once they confirm that all of my issues have been satisfactorily resolved.

Seems like a good portion of current Tesla owners have not yet had an opportunity to order their Model 3. Would love to get some more first-hand accounts of the status of your orders!

If you know any current owners whose story relates to this post, feel free to vote and explain on their behalf! If I had my car, I probably wouldn't be on these forums right now myself..

The status of my order is fulfilled on reservation number 1, and pending on reservation number 2.

3/31 (afternoon) reservation, owner after reservation made (May 2016), Texas, no invite yet. Esitmate on my Tesla says Nov. 2017 to Jan 2018 for long range RWD.
Wow, they're running short on time.
I was hoping the three month window was for delivery, looks like its probably just for the invite and that's looking pretty shaky too :(

I am an owner based on California who ordered online on 4/1. However I subsequently put in a second order in August 2017. Tesla accidentally prioritized that one instead of my first one--hence I have not received my invite. They are rectifying the priority, so we will see if I get my invite in the next round since all other California owners who purchased in the first two days seem to have received their invites. Crossing my fingers.

I posted the following on Model 3 Owners Club site this morning:

I was supposed to take delivery on my Model 3 yesterday afternoon in San Diego. Four hours before my appointment, I got a call from the Delivery Specialist saying that while detailing my car for delivery, the techs discovered a "crack" in the glass roof panel over the driver/front passenger area. They had no idea of how or when the crack occurred. They feel it is a safety hazard and the glass must be replaced before delivery. The DS went on to say that a new panel had been ordered and should be shipped down to San Diego overnight for replacement by the San Diego Service Center by tomorrow or Friday. I have a weekend trip scheduled, so delayed delivery until next Monday, the 22nd.

Questions: Does Fremont really have spare glass roof panels ready to ship? Is the Service Center capable of competently installing and sealing the new panel? Should I ask for another car while Tesla sorts out the cracking problem? Any other thoughts?

The poll is missing an option for "I've received my configuration request, but am holding off for additional options."
This.

This poll got me to check my Tesla account and, to my surprise, the design studio has opened for me. I will defer because I am still leaning toward another CPO S and because I can't use the federal tax credit (much too low income) and would prefer to leave it for someone who can use it.

I made my reservation online late on 3-31 near midnight, well after the Model 3 reveal. Tesla owner, of course.
