Now that Tesla has supposedly overcome the challenge of producing the 100kWh battery pack in high volume (according to Tesla confirms having ~3,500 vehicles in transit at the end of last quarter ) I am wondering what the current X100D order to delivery timeframe is for people in the Western US who have ordered recently.

That is, for a custom X100D order (not an "inventory" car) about how long does it take for a Western US customer to receive their car once they have reached the point where their order config is "locked in" (no changes allowed without paying the extra $500)? Thanks.

My post was asking about what people had experienced for recent custom config X delivery timeframes, that's all. Actual data points. I am aware of what the X configuration web page states.
Thanks. It was not clear you knew what the web page said because you did not specify that at all. I also wonder if that estimate is different based on the 'location' you are ordering from (ie. take into account transportation time).

Fyi, @scottf200 I ordered on Jul-02 , Before ordering it said Mid Aug, I noticed post order it is saying Late Sept to early Oct .
I am curious to know why the estimate has to move over a month ?
That is a good data point. What did Tesla tell you about that discrepancy? I am interested in this as well but (hopefully) for late Fall.

Are you saying that when you configured your X using the page at Order a Model X that it showed "Mid August" for your configuration? And then after placing your order that page changed to "Late Sept to early Oct" for the same configuration?

I'm not clear on what you mean by "post order" and if the changed order timeframe was sent to you by Tesla in an email or if that is what you saw on the X configuration page or in your MyTesla account.

No problem. I also do not know if the delivery timeframe estimate shown at Order a Model X Is based on the users location or not.

Given the way Tesla has been producing international cars early in the quarter and west coast cars last in the quarter I'd say you get your car at the end of the quarter. That means you might be able to order fairly late in the quarter. But I don't think there is any way we can say something like "2 months from order to delivery".

I was referring "Post order" as paying $2500 as deposit. It was confirmed after 3 days & not sure since when the estimated date was changed ? If you check on design page now, it still says "Mid or late Aug" . It appears after placing order these dates were changed !! Need to find out with Tesla on monday .

What's weird is the Design Studio says (now) for all tentative USA orders without knowing at all where you are (unless there are some IP address shananigans going on!). It says Late August for me just on the first 'pick options' page, no personal info (zip code) has been entered.

In legal terms, it would be a form of "bait and switch" to entice orders with an August delivery date estimate that changes to a month later after you are locked in by contract (ie. the auto-confirmation, which now seems to be only 3-days and not the old 7-days). There are plenty of inventory cars out there, possibly matching one you configured for. Work with Tesla to find a match and grab that one.

For an east coast USA - says late-August.
For a west coast USA - says late-August.

So, if someone were to order today, then confirm in 3-days and it switches to late-September, I think that is a problem.

Exactly. Not precise approximation, no? :D

I think that would be a definite case for deposit refund (unless the fine print says nothing on the page is binding, sigh....).

Model X 100D 5 seater. MyTesla has consistently said delivery would be "Late July-August"
06/07 - Ordered
06/11 - Finalized
06/28 - In Production
Today - Still In Production

I finished the "Request Final Paperwork" section on MyTesla yesterday and just noticed today today that now it says "Estimated Delivery Range: July 15, 2017 - July 29, 2017". Still a two week window, but better narrower than Late July-August.

I ordered a Model X June 6th (from the Montreal Service Center). Before ordering, the delivery date said 'end July-August'. After the deposit and confirmation, date jumped to 'late August-September'.
I talked to my Tesla Specialist, there was supposedly an option I failed to click on my ordering page, requesting for delivery 'as soon as possible' (I don't remember seeing such an option...). Anyway, he accessed my file and made the necessary changes, and the delivery date switched back to 'end July-August'.

But, I am still waiting for the car to enter production though, more than a month after ordering... I feel like delivery might really be at the end of August or even later by now.

What do you think?

On the 'ASAP Delivery', what he probably meant was this below: Not screamingly obviously when you're absorbed in being sure you you got all the options and everything else correct! (But the default is ASAP, so, not sure what he actually meant!)

I see... I don't remember that, but as you said, the excitement of the reservation process probably distracted me! :)
