Custom ordered not picked up - moved to existing inventory?

My understanding is when the car you have custom ordered is ready for pick up you have 3 days to pick it up. What happens to those who do not pick up their cars? Is that car moved to existing inventory for anyone to buy? If that is the case does anyone know what time each day or night those cars are moved from "reserved" to "open to buy" on the existing inventory?

I'd love to avoid the 9-13 week wait time.

They reduced the available options so much that the car will most likely be paired to someone else almost immediately.
