Saw 112938273 on Instagram. Posted 9:50 PM. Would be at a rate of 1,800 an hour for the last 3 hours using the RN on the post before this as a starting point.

    They aren't sequential:

    Reserved an AWD-FSD ~4 hours ago: RN112933xxx
    Reserved a RWD-FSD ~10 minutes ago: RN112927xxx

So maybe the 5th digit is a trim level indicator? Or the numbers are just completely random.

Ah so the RN’s being model specific is interesting. Would change where I am in line.

Makes sense too seeing as sequential order numbers and time stamps weren't lining up.

When the Model 3 reservation system first came out they did a chronological number but discovered quickly that everybody was tracking their number and then they changed the reservation numbers to be masked in someway and I imagine the cyber truck is also that way

I think we need more data to see if they've switched to mask the chronological RNs. All other orders on this thread seem to point towards chronological ordering. I suppose they could be setting aside a certain number of VINs per trim level and doing chronological by that now.

Regardless since Elon's tweet saying 146k pre-orders makes me think the numbers aren't THAT random. We got pretty close at 130k before i stopped tracking.

I spoke with customer service as I didn’t get the loading page for reference number on second one and the guy said ignore the numbers as when you get your chance to build the vehicle you can adjust it to what ever model you want. As an example if you ordered a 2wd but wanted a 4wd you will still get that allocated spot.

Assuming 1127xxxxx is the lowest.. my preorder 5mins ago is now 112951xxx

Should be well over 200k preorder and interest. Going to buyout my 2016 Model S and trade it in when the cybertruck is ready.

Doesn’t look like they are completely sequential. Or not exactly anyways. Maybe slight variation by model reserved.

    RN112953
    112744
But up to 209,000 if they generally are in order. Just placed another for the dual motor.

Sounds pretty much like how they’ve done past new releases. Reservation by earliest date/time group gets invite to place order and configure, then next group in line. Do wonder if they will first extend to employees, then current/past Tesla owners, early reservation holders, then general public as in the past. Would assume so. That current/past owners group has grown an awful lot since we ordered our MS in 2017 and Model 3 in 2018.

Not sure, but I got the RWD if that makes any difference on the numbering.
