Danbury, CT Supercharger

Stopped by yesterday. Not open yet and all iced. The 2 non tesla chargers were iced. I has about 100 miles left with 195 miles to go. Across from the mall, there are chargers in front of Whole Foods. Not fast just 20 miles an hour . Had lunch at Panera which is in the same area

This is probably the worst time of the year for shopping at DFM. I've rarely seen cars in that lot with SC on a normal weekend, as it is so far from the mall.

The EVgo chargers should be policed by Security, but no one cares about us. Frankly, I wouldn't put the spots up front to entice ICEing. I've seen at other malls Prius parked in charger spots, and they weren't PHEV models.

That's interesting. Most others that were listed having a Target open of 2017 have been updated to 2018.

I contacted the mall and they would not share any info with me as to the reason for the delay or any sort of time frame. They referred me to a generic Tesla email address for my questions about the site. The representative at the City of Danbury building department had no information either.

I think we're still a ways away from Waterbury being decided on. Trumbull and Torrington were 2017, so they should come first. The only location I could think of in Waterbury would be the mall or plaza next to the mall. Possibly Home Depot or Downtown too.

No, but it's close as Fremont, CA (Kato Rd) is at 205 days as of today.

That location was actually originally added to supercharge.info some time earlier - it was stale for so long, it was removed - the listing you see above is the second iteration!

Good eye and thanks for clarifying. It looks like pics of the construction go as far back as Oct 15, 2015 so that would be 845 days total but don't know how much 'downtime' in the middle of the project.

Danbury construction appears complete including transformer and meter. It just doesn’t seem to have been energized. Was there this weekend and no progress to report.

Just joined the forum. Stumbled on the site searching for info on the Danbury chargers. I'll be getting my ordered CPO Model S next month, so I'm hoping the Danbury chargers will be up and running soon. I originally thought they were to be destination chargers only, which I had read I believe on the Tesla charging map. Can someone confirm they are indeed Superchargers? I live in the next town (Brookfield) and the mall is a short distance from my home. I passed by the chargers last week, but didn't take a good look at the information on them. Is it possible they are Superchargers, but will initially be set as destination chargers???

I stopped there over a month ago. They are indeed superchargers. Well, except for the charging part.

No, completely different hardware and electric service requirements.

Don't get too hung up on having a local supercharger. You will want to install charging at home if at all possible, regardless of how close a supercharger may be. Charging overnight at home is way more convenient. I live within 5 miles of one (and 1 mile from a batch of public L2 Chargepoints). I didn't get home charging together until a month after getting my car. Going to the SC weekly to charge while shopping or leaving the car overnight at a public Chargepoint station gets old quickly.
