Dark rearview mirror

I picked up MY yesterday and one item concerns me. The rearview mirror is very dark. It's like it's permanently in "night mode". Has anyone else seen this?

Yes, it is darker than my previous car. I got used to it after a few weeks.

BTW, my guess is that it is due to the tinting of the hatch window. Although my previous car was also a small SUV, it seems like MY's hatch window tinting is stronger.

On my second thought, it could be due to the angle of the hatch window. At an angle, you have thicker glass and tinting film, thus the view will be much darker. Yes, I think that's the ultimate explanation.

Sorry for multiple posts - ideas are keeping coming in sporadically.

Thanks..I felt blind backing out of my garage last night..I know there is the rear view camera, but it still freaked me out.
I'll let time pass to adjust.

If Elon had his way there would be no mirrors At all and only cameras. The backup camera view is awesome. I don’t bother with the rear view mirror at all but still rely on the side view mirrors.
