After you reboot try saving the Dashcam recording while driving. I now do this every other day and this seems to prevent the error from recurring.

Just don’t do anything for about a week. It will fix itself. Mine has been working for 10 days after doing nothing to fix.

Took my car in for service and they disconnected the 12 volt, formatted the sd, unplugged and plugged back in and said it fixed the issue. Been 2 days and no problems.

I started having this problem last month. Tesla solution I was asked to reboot car, get a new drive, format it... Etc. Then they asked me to bring in the car for service. They kept it overnight but right away the same day I got notification that my car service was done and ready for pick up. The tech at the SC said that this is a known issue that should be fixed by the next firmware.
They made me waste my time, and sent me back home in Uber credits. I had to go back the next day to pick up my car back in an Uber on a 45 mins ride after work.
The reps should know this info before making everyone waste their time.

It's not a physical problem. The issue has be explained by Musk, it's the firmware.

Just loaded software 2022.16.1.1, and it does not fix it either. I was hopeful, but no. On a brighter note, the car visualizations are stunning now.

Unlikely the theories of what solves the issue will go away seeing as how the tweet was already posted a few pages back.

It's happening almost every drive. Unplugging and plugging back in 2-4 times fixes it but this is getting old.

FWIW,I have the icon visible, and when I see the red X, I just format it (sometimes twice), without needing to remove it. But if you have any sort of hub or multi-device adapter, it won't enable formatting.

I just picked up my model y and the dashcam and sentry videos are a no go.

Still an issue. @jcanoe 's method of manually pushing record works about half the time for me.

I have version 2022.12.3.20 and have had the same issue. Hard reboot and reformat seems to have corrected the issue for now.
