Dashcam not working but Sentry mode works

Hi everyone. I have successfully set up the flash drive for dashcam in 2018 m3.

My dashcam is not recording while driving. The icon has a gray dot. Press and hold cannot start recording. However, when parked, the sentry mode works, and both icons are red and clips can be saved.

Has anyone met similar problems?

It takes a bit of practice to turn the dashcam on and off. You need the press and briefly hold the icon, but not for too long. If Sentry Mode is actually recording clips the USB is fine. Keep practicing.

Asked the support today, and the representative asks me to schedule a service. I bought and picked up this vehicle only two weeks ago. Hope the mobile service is free.

Yes. Please check if your cabin overheat protection is greyed out or not. If it is also greyed out, you have the same problem as me.
You have to mention to the service the following: the vehicle is not marked delivered in a back-end database. This problem cause several of your functions locked.

It is a remote fix.

My service team didn't believe in me at first, because they only checked delivery in a front-end system. But you must insist until they ask the technician to analyze this problem. At the end, if you don't hear them back in several weeks, you should go to a SC yourself and confront them. It is a very easy remote fix!
