Dashcam recording question

Hello,

i have inserted 64 GB USB drive and did format from model 3 console. I was under the impression that all the drives ar being recorded
today i wanted to check my drive which took for about 45 mins ( from start to end). I ejected the drive by clicking on the red dashcam symbol. I safely ejected the drive.
when i placed the usb drive in my laptop, i saw only my latest drive in RECENT CLIPS folder ( it was about 5 gb in file size)
why is it not recording all the other drives ?
Did i made any mistake or is this how dashcam works ?

It only saves the most recent hour in Recent Clips. If you want to save all your drives, you should investigate getting a dedicated dashcam.

Yeah, it overwrites after an hour. BUT you can record the last 10 minutes as often as you want by clicking on the camera icon on the screen. Or activating the 'honk to record' option in one of the menus (forgot which one). This in case you need the footage for accident proof, or some other event. But if you want to record all the time, then you need a dedicated dash-cam. Hope this helps.
