Is anybody NOT using the female 12V plug adapter? Is there any technical reasoning for not cutting the included cable and soldering it to the 4-pin fan connector directly?

I clipped mine off and have had no problems yet in 3 months... reading the comments the first one says

This was true on the 500 series (voltage reduction was done inside the plug). I don’t know for 100% on the newer 600/650 models, but I think they may have removed the voltage regulator from within the plug. I’d check with the manufacturer first just to be sure."

I did another install for a friend and confirmed that the newer cameras 650gw and 650s have no voltage reduction just straight wire from the 12v plug to a fuse

I did my install few months back (June), also no voltage reduction (I checked before cutting the wire). I did keep the in-line fuse just in case.

On a 2018 model S can you connect 2 power wires to the 12v wire inside the microphone panel? I want to install the Blackvue 750s 2ch-IR and a 900s 1ch. I will use the 900 for the front and the 750 for the rear and interior. I believe I will have 2 power wires that I need to connect and was hoping to just use one power source. FYI I want continuous recording.
