Deadpedal plastic - irritating to my foot

Anybody else bothered by this piece of plastic next to the deadpedal? It bothers me when it catches on the left side of my shoe. I got to sit in the driver's seat of a Model X this weekend and there is carpet there so your foot does not catch. I'm thinking of glueing in some carpet maybe...

I can't recall it happening since I installed the dead pedal cover.

But you are right, you should be able to make something up that accomplishes the same function, it's just a matter of aesthetics.

Here is what I ended up doing. Added a small piece of a doormat I bought at WalMart. It works perfectly. My foot doesn't catch on the plastic and its soft and comfortable on the side of my shoe. Stuck it there with some double-stick tape.
