Anyone have this “issue/defect” on their blue? It’s not just a camera trick, visible to the eye. It’s the area on the rear door right when the body line changes. Just behind the front door handle but on the rear door. I didn’t notice it til someone else pointed it out. Not sure if it’s normal.

Tesla said they didn't have a detailing department, so I took it into my own hands and learned how to do paint correction. Not bad for my first try.
you did well!

YOu can get those remaining micro swirls out if you choose to. In short, I've found this process to get great results

Brrr ... how did the car do in that weather?
Rock solid except for one issue. See all the ice on the front just above the air intake/grill arean? That is enough to block the front radar apparently which caused not just Autopilot (with FSD option) to be unavailable, but ALL forms of cruise control. Apparently they don't have any fallback to a traditional form of cruise control.

That front radar is supposed to be heated but I don't know what actually activates the heating. I set the car for defrost mode in the app while I went inside to use the bathroom and buy a brush/ice scraper since I apparently hadn't put mine in the tesla for this trip and it looked like it might be needed. When I came back out the radar had clearly melted the ice. It hadn't melted enough to fall off yet but it brushed off easily from that area. I did have defrost on while driving too so I don't know if that has anything to do with the radar heating or if it's only the pre-heating mode in the app that triggers it. If was being heated while driving then it clearly can't always keep up when driving in freezing rain at about 25F.

I just drove through snow and ice last night and lost all AP and cruise control because of ice and snow build up. I also thought the radar and cameras were heated? Anyone know if it’s a special setting?

Thanks for the reply; hoping I remember that when it happens to me.

They definitely ARE heated. Like I said when mine was just sitting at the charger with the defrost on the ice had melted on the radar enough I was able to just brush it right off. I think it just can't keep it warm enough while driving in some conditions to prevent build up. Keep a snow brush in the car and pull over and let it sit for few minutes then brush it off when that happens. That is my plan at least.
