I'll try to post the requested photos shortly. Vanity mirror and lighting issues? What issues?

Do you mean no hotspot functionally for passengers but WiFi still works for connecting the car to home network for software updates or no WiFi at all?

No, I mean the only connectivity right now is via 3G. Clearly, and reconfirmed by yesterday's blog, wifi is coming.

No shade for the Pano. I asked about that today and was told they decided against it in favor of headroom. That said, in full bright California sun, I didn't even notice the light from above because it's so darkly tinted. But the kids did comment on the beautiful view of the sky.

Thanks for your responses.

Right now the Options and Pricing web page continues to discuss the inclusion of the manual shade and people have made and are continuing to make configuration decisions based on that information.

I'm very happy with quality of the interior, but I'm looking forward to opportunity consoles. I'm in the camp that prefers more storage and cup holders.

I asked about 4G and was told not now, but didn't get a clear answer on whether it's upgradable. It also doesn't have wifi right now, but I was told that would come via software later. (If the my delivery specialist understood correctly, this would imply the hardware is in there, it just isn't enabled yet.) Bummer is with no wifi I can't even use my mifi hotspot to speed things up. The map load speed was okay. When driving you'd never notice because it loads as it goes, but if you start zooming way in or out or moving around by hand, you do notice the lag. We took a country road for part of the trip and did lose connectivity for a while. Along the highway it worked flawlessly.

Great news. Thanks for your feedback.

What do you mean it lost connectivity???? meaning the GPS didn't work??? The maps didn't load????

Are the maps previously downloaded onto the car or are they always accessed via 3G????

If latter....sucks to be in the middle of nowhere...

It's been discussed previously that if you don't purchase the Tech Package you are likely going to lose your navigation outside of cell coverage areas.

All the demonstrator cars I've seen appear to load maps from 3G (because of the noticeable tile loading delay). I understood that most (perhaps all) of them had the Tech Package. Is the locally stored map navigation a not-yet-implemented software feature?
..."likely"????

i just assumed that dadaleus had the tech package....if this is so, there seems to be something awry there....

Dadeleus, can you please post some photos of the pano roof cross bar?

Sorry took so long. Here you go:

With no wifi, how does it connect for updates? How did (or did) you get your music on?

Don't know about updates. So far I can play music off my iphone (integration is truly beautiful and flawless!) and a USB stick (also flawless--I'm playing flak files BTW and the surround sounds great even if not discrete). I haven't figured out any way to load music into the system even though that's a feature of the sound package. Waiting for word on that.

Interesting point.

If you refer to this thread on the Tesla forums you will see from George B's written comments that the sunshade is still in play.

It is premature to expect the sunshade has been dropped.

I may very well have been given bad info. It was a service tech who told me it was dropped. I don't see it in my car.

Yea, I'm kinda wondering about that. I think it had already cached enough that I didn't experience a loss of map, and the navigation for your route seems to all load right off the bat so as long as you have a connection when you start, I'm guessing that will work the whole way. But scrolling and zooming in and out you can see it downloading the data (like using your laptop on Google maps on a slowish connection). I have to play with this more to really answer your question.

As a Sig I should have the tech package. It's a little hard to tell precisely in person though--it's not like the display says "the feature you are using is only available because you have the tech package."

Since we're requesting photos, did they ever resolve the vanity mirror and lighting issues?

Here's a picture of the vanity mirror and central mirror. Not sure what issues you are referring to.

Dadaleus (and others) have reported bugs in the navigation. As long as its buggy we wont have reliable reviews on how it will work. But I've read elsewhere that if you don't have the tech package the system doesn't store the maps. Not to say a map with a route you have up will disappear when you lose coverage. When I am using my iPhone to navigate when hiking I load the satellite views ahead of time and just don't try to refresh it while I am out of cell range.
