Delay on standard range?!

I got a friend who ordered a standard range when it was still showing 2-4 weeks delivery. He expected to get the car by end of this month as he thought that’s what Tesla wanted to push, but he just got informed that there’s production delay and the car won’t be ready for another few months, and the rep asked he wants to upgrade to standard plus or not with no discount at all in order to get a car earlier than that. Just wonder.. anyone got similar message?

I expect lots of folks have- back on March 4 Elon stated- "Gap in understanding is that $35k Model 3 production *starts* this month, but will not reach volume production until mid year"

Most, if not all, current production is slated for Europe/China since it takes a long time to get the cars across the ocean. The last month (minus a week or so) of the financial quarter production is slated for US deliveries. This is how they have produced the S and X in the past so they can maximize delivered cars per quarter. I would image that if you ordered recently, delivery will be delayed until May/June.

I wonder if Tesla will push the standard range delivery before end of June or not...
