Or GigaFactory Texas will actually open?
We don’t know which Tesla models Hertz ordered, but if they are primarily Model 3s (as I suspect) than the opening of Giga Texas won’t make any difference to M3 delivery timeframes in Canada; according to Tesla that factory will only produce Ys and CTs for the foreseeable future. All North American M3s will continue to come from California.

Early reports are that the Hertz order is for Model 3's. One thing that could happen when Giga Texas opens is that Fremont could perhaps reduce Model Y production and increase Model 3 production.

Very good point, thanks!

Whatever Hertz actually ordered, it’s god news for Tesla and for EVs in general.
