Delivery - 10 minutes with delivery specialist and that's it...out the door

I guess I should have added "it's the most amazing car I've ever driven and I've driven just about everything that exists". Nothing can ruin the experience of the car, baring any major issues, I expect bugs and minor things (I call it an iPad on wheels), but so far it's been amazing. I didn't even test drive it or ride in one, I went and sat in it and knew I'd love it. Could not be more excited about it, just have to get over the "new car paranoia" (everyone out to get me!).

If you have some spare time it might be a good idea to watch YouTube videos in advance. You’ll learn and absorb a lot more from those features than anywhere else. I found quite a bit of new features by watching YouTube, good luck!

And please report you me vins to Troy.

Appreciate it. I’ve watched a few videos but I will check out more. I was a bit nervous driving around at first but was fine by the evening. Autopilot has activated but I didn’t enable auto lane change yet. I reported my VIN to both sheets already but will update the delivery. I’m going to a Tesla meetup tomorrow and hope to keep learning. My software version is 2018.21.9 and am hoping it updates soon.

Okay - have had the car for two days now and am loving it. Other than the delivery experience and the small paint chip, the car has been flawless. My software is still 2018.21.9 but I have a lot to learn anyway so I can wait on the latest versions. Am learning to drive it so I don't punch it every time I move from a stop! The one-pedal driving is becoming far more natural. I got in and drove an X yesterday and I told the owner (he got to drive my 3 in return) that even in this short time, I found his dash too cluttered! Voice recognition has worked well so far with the exception that it keeps misunderstanding my sister's name. Showed it to my neighbor who owns an S and he said his next car was going to be a 3. His kids were in awe and one of them said that it was now his new dream car! Gave some other neighbors a ride and they loved it. They kept saying that the blue was beautiful. They have owned several luxury makes and they commented on the great fit and finish of the 3. Drove it to work and it is charging in the lot for free at 23 miles/hour. I will be roaming the forum for any tips and tricks I can pick up from the rest of you. My wife who is away right now has yet to even see it but I know that we will be loving this car for a long time. I'd like to thank the community for helping us along in our journey to finally become Tesla owners!

Waiting for my M3 but took delivery of my Model X a few weeks back. The delivery experience was great and took around 30 minutes - beyond the basics like plugging in the charge cable, pair phones, basic screen features/ setup did not need more details. Agree with my adviser that it would be too much information to digest.

My delivery part was very quick and I recommend anyone to use that time to just look for any defects so you can note them down and have them looked by a service center. I was pretty well informed about the car already going into it, so I could have saved the lady some time but I let her do part of her spiel. The only thing I wish they explained is how to properly hold the wheel for Autopilot. I kept getting nagging because I was holding it steady and trying to grip the wheel harder and I just kept getting frustrated before reading that you had to slightly turn the wheel to activate the steering wheel "hold". Glad they updated that in 24.1.

However the comment you mentioned in your email about the contract would have worried me. My contract had to be rewritten because they didn't include my Tesla Solar referral credit. It took about 2 hours for that part of the process. They were extremely friendly and helpful the whole time.
