Delivery frustration...

Well aware there's an overpromise/underdeliver attitude about custom orders, but this is getting ridiculous.

Ordered in April, with estimated delivery showing April. Spoke with local sales person, estimated first week of May. That came and went, so I spoke with my delivery specialist. She said production hadn't even started yet. Got a message a couple days later that 5/25 was "the" date, she could see it on her end. Of course, no go there, either.

I'm scheduled for 6/5 now. Who knows what will happen, but I'm pretty irritated at the lack of communication/update. Is this a typical delivery experience for you vets? I'm sure it's worth the wait, but...

That's par for the course. My model 3 was reassigned so many times... It'd get scheduled by someone then nobody would tell the delivery center, or they would assign a delivery without a car.

For what it's worth, I've had two and am picking up a third tomorrow (one was totaled so still really only two) so despite those frustrations and potentially running into more at delivery tomorrow I'm still 100% on board. I know from experience that the car is totally worth the hassle, but I understand others don't necessarily know that so they really really need to get the delivery aspect fixed. And the repair aspect (been there done that), and communication, and false expectations, and any number of other things. But. They have amazing cars, absolutely phenomenal, so it'll be worth it despite the frustration they cause you now.

Well congratulations you have a date. Nadda here.

This is clearly worse than when I got my first Tesla, nearly 4 years ago now. Right now there's absolutely no status to report to a future owner, and they've even screwed up my configuration once. No one you can speak with at Tesla knows what's happening either, or has the wrong info. I'm kind of wondering if I will even get it by July 1st at this point.

Tesla if you're reading:
Is my car scheduled for production?
Has my car begun production?
Has my car finished production?
Is it being transported?
Is it sitting in a parking lot somewhere?

The Tesla production system is so advanced apparently tracking every nut and bolt torque in each car's software itself, but we can't get a status update?

Tesla usually refrains from doing step by step informational communications on every car they have on order.

Pretty much go radio silent until they get the car ready for delivery.

Very frustrating for customers that want to know what is happening behind the curtain all the time, but it is normal for Telsa not to do running commentary.

I ordered Raven Model X on April 25th. Just few days ago was given a delivery date for June 11th. After bugging the sales rep people was told that they started making Model Xs (assume applies to Ss as well) in batches and then they match up the vehicles to the orders. So if you ordered a more popular configuration chances are you are getting your car sooner than someone that did not (I ordered a 7 seater with white seats). There was also the regulatory approvals and the necessary stickers for the new power train versions, which I also heard from a different sales rep and on E for Electric YouTube video. So take all of this with a grain of salt. I do think Tesla will do everything in their power to get April/May orders in before July 1st if only to make the 2Q numbers look as good as possible.

At least you got a VIN--My deposit has been in limbo for a few weeks no VIN--what a disorganized company. They would certainly be a better performing company with even a hint of customer service

I truly hope so...my order confirmation date is 4/30/2019... no information on VIN yet.
I ordered my 5 seater X on 4/29, VIN was assigned on 5/29 and then removed on 5/30... Got a new VIN assigned 6/5. Delivery is happening on 6/10.
When I log into the account, it still shows as a RN. When you click manage it shows a VIN. Even if it's not there, call the delivery center and ask them if they have a VIN since you need it for Insurance purposes and they can usually see if one has been assigned and provide it to you.
This being my second Model X, one thing is for sure, VIN numbers, delivery dates etc. don't mean anything to me. I will believe it when I actually take delivery of my vehicle. Tesla does need to step up their game...

From Gil Shanley
I ordered on April 22, then the refresh announcement came out. I contacted my DS and asked whether my order would be the refreshed model. Several days later he said it would. Received VIN 5/3 with
estimated delivery date around end of May. After reading forums about customers being told they
needed to cancel their pre-April 24 orders and reorder, I called again to verify and was told the same.
The day before the FIRST scheduled delivery date, I called again to verify. He later called back and
said he had called Corporate and no, my car would not be refreshed and did I want him to cancel my order and reorder and I said yes, even that would entail another wait of a month or so. 30 minutes
later he called and said he had talked with the people who had the car in transit from California to
Dallas, which was in Arizona and they took pictures of the car and he said it definitely was the refreshed or Raven model. It was then supposed to be deliver on my birthday, May 31 (accidentally)
and it finally arrived by truck in Shreveport, Louisiana on June 2, Sunday morning. It is, in fact
the Raven. In perfect condition. The next day I received an update, the account was activated
so now I am up to date.
However, due to the bureaucratic war on Tesla, no temp tag could be issued, so I must wait for
owner documents to be sent so I can register, get a license and pay state sales tax. So I am spending
the 7-10 days with the car in the garage and learning the many, many options and selecting what I
believe I want.
That's my story and I am sticking to it.

They have always done that, and unless it changed by region. Some months build for US, some months EU, some months Asia.

First post here (not yet a tesla owner).
However I've had a quite good experience now in Drammen, Norway.

I tried model s a few years ago and decided to wait. Then I tried model 3 earlier this year and it was good but too small for our use. Then they lent me a model x to see if it would fit in the garage, and it did! Barely :)

A few days later the raven news dropped and I called tesla and asked if I ordered one now if it would be one of those. He said that he was not sure and that he would call me as soon as he could get it confirmed that I would get a raven.

A few days later he called and I ordered a long range x with 7 seats, red multi coat, and FSD. It was 2nd of May if I remember correctly.

Since I was not in a hurry and they initially said I would get it in September I did not think much until the invoice with the VIN dropped in my email last Thursday. I went down there and talked to them and the lady I spoke to said it would arrive at the end of June. They gave me all I needed for the insurance to be set up and I'm ready :)

That said, reading above, I hope it doesn't get shuffled around. It's starting to become quite anticipated here!

I drive a 2013 toyota avensis and it's been excellent but it's time to step into the future.

I placed my Model X order about a month ago and I am taking delivery this Thursday (May 21) My deposit was May 22.
-- Calgary, Alberta.

I wanted a Tesla previously but I hated the suspension so I never bought it. It will interesting to drive as I have a Merc GLS 63 and Merc 4x4 Squared which would probably be the arch enemies of this unit.

The purchase process is not as refined as it should be as my account still does show the VIN and so I would suggest that this is an unreliable indicator of when you would get your car.You have to badger the reps or you will sit in a vague void.

I sold my Lexus LX570 within a day on auto trader and so I am glad this unit came in when the sales rep for Tesla said it would arrive. Other than the strange uncertainty initially ordering and receiving a build in a month is quite good and so I am satisfied

Isn't there a tax exemption that is expiring in Norway soon? We were in Bergen a few weeks ago and a taxi driver was talking about. Well, he talked about rain and the tax exemption for EVs. Forever.

There is talks about many things like a "tesla tax" to tax the more expensive EVs and adding VAT back to them (25%).
However adding this tax would be very unpopular among many groups including all the green parties so there is no plan for taxes. It's mostly talking points in the tune of "the poor are subsidising the rich peoples teslas", but they are so common here I hardly believe we have that many rich people.
I'm not, I just have an ok job, that's enough.

The other vehicle tax is basically a cylindrical volume + co2/particle emission formula so EVs will never be hit by that.

Fear of having taxes go up and the raven news was what prompted me to order the MX LR.

need urgent help (sorry for the long post)

Ordered model x - (paid deposit) last week. with free ludicrous on a older 2019 model x when it was still p100d and not long range and a showroom model. so there was some price reduction.

but it seems like they don't want to sell the car to me now. and they are coming up with one reason after the other.
first there was a cosmetic damage to the interior that they said they would not fix (I would have to pay and get fixed after delivery). I said ok because that would still be a good deal and the car was configured/built to my exact preference.

I thought asking me to fix some interior defect was wrong (anyways I agreed) and checked with the sales person that everything else is good. And he said its otherwise in great condition.

Delivery is scheduled today, Loan approved, added to insurance etc.

Sales person came back again yesterday and said that there is damage ("worn out") to the seat and was advised not to sell this car, but rather sell a new car with no discount, but can still get the free ludicrous upgrade. I feel like they just don't want to sell it to me because I was getting a great discount? (sales guy repeatedly was saying that I was getting a great discount etc. how awesome this deal is and its a great car etc.)

What is my recourse? I paid the deposit, prepared to take delivery today, planned my life around it, sold my old car, and let go the other new cars I was considering before I choose this.
