Finally took delivery of my inventory 2018 S100D today and the quality of delivery is definitely not the same compared to when I went with my parents to get their Model X back in April 2018. Their delivery felt special and nice with the car inside the building and presented beautifully and ample time was given to check and explain the vehicle. My car was parked outside the building instead of it being presented in a delivery room. I inspected the car and I found multiple chips/scratches that was hard to see through the pictures that they send you when inquiring about the vehicle (This was expected). The car had 2600 miles so I cannot really complain all too much. What did irritate me is they kept trying to emphasize the "heavily discounted" price of what I am getting it for. It was only discounted for about ~$7000ish but since PUP is now included, it's really only about ~$5000 in reality. I finally told them that given the chance, I would have much rather paid the extra $7000 to receive the car new. I did not want to lose the $2500 deposit, wait till November, and then pay for more a new one which is why I opted to take the vehicle. I will just get the paint fixed and corrected so I can apply some PPF on it -- no biggie.
Also, I've only been looking at the vehicle for about 5-7 minutes when my delivery specialist told me, "I only have 20 minutes with you until I have to go to my next delivery." It is probably not his fault given how slammed they are but man..... What a way to start the delivery experience and that definitely set the pace of the delivery visit. Mind you my specialist had 2 people on orientation with him. I paid for the 21" turbines which did not come with the car and the delivery specialist had no idea that it was even included with my MVPA. I ended up speaking with 2 managers which were both very nice and the rims were added on my due bill along with a "post-delivery detail" for some front bumper rock chips. I'm sure I'll have to wait a few weeks before I get a call about it and I'll have to remind them.
My frustration is how much they upsell their inventory vehicles when speaking with them but the moment you ask about some blemishes and issues they quickly say BUT it's an inventory -_-.
But as most people here, you quickly forget some frustrations the moment you drive the vehicle. Hoping it doesn't give me any issues anytime soon!
