First...I feel like I did good. I got an electric car for ~$40k after rebates (hopefully), it doesn't have crappy range and it looks good. Fancy Japanese import cost for American assembled and engineered.

I was surprised to see my account prompting for credit information and trade in evaluation on Sunday (7/29). I did financing through Tesla and my account initially given US Bank for a $46,500 loan @ 72 months with no down at 3.55%. Two hours later it changed to financing through Wells Fargo for a $41,500 loan @ 72 months with no down at 3.65%. I quickly emailed Tesla Financing asking why my account had changed and they responded in about 20 minutes (on a Sunday at 8pm) saying that my initial offer with US Bank was valid and that I could use that offer, I just needed to provide my YTD Pay or W2 as proof of income. My account status reflected the selection of US Bank the next morning.

On Sunday I also did my over-text Trade-In Evaluation for my 2008 Mazda 3 Hatch (great little car, hated FWD). After submission the I received a text response confirming receipt and that I would receive an offer in 24 hours. Monday came and went, so I called support today. After a 30 minute wait Travis said that my car had actually received a trade in offer and I had a VIN assigned (my account page says trade in eval pending). I even had a ISA assigned! He attempted to transfer me to my ISA but it didn't go through. He said my ISA would contact me within 24-48 hours.

20 minutes later and Joseph calls (my ISA) saying all he needs is a picture of my Mazda title and I can come pick up the car in Fremont on Friday...whaaaaa...
PS: He offered to have it delivered to my apartment in mid August. I didn't ask if I had to pay extra, I should have though.

Some bummer news:
* Trade if offer was a low bid. At least $400 under my KBB, and nearly half of private resale. I know I could have CarMax'ed it but I'm lazy. It's not an incredible difference to me.
* Everyone has to pay a $975 Destination Fee and a $75 Documentation fee. I didn't get it delivered. "Something something laws transport laws legal jargon".

I follow up on Friday.

Delivery was a success on Friday. The experience was easy, but time consuming. It took me nearly 3.5 hours from meeting with my delivery specialist to driving away. I think the trade in paperwork delayed some stuff. My ACH payment button never appeared before purchase but I was able to write a check quite easily. The delivery specialist seemed like he wanted to debunk the idea that personal checks are not allowed, he made it seem like they are MORE than willing to take personal checks.

The car has no issues with QC (at least yet). It's clean, panels are aligned, no nicks or dings, and everything seems to mechanically function.

I was able to find out that at the Fremont facility, they're typically delivering 150 vehicles per day on the weekdays, and about 350 vehicles per day on Saturday.

My first impressions? It's pretty unlike anything I've ever experienced car wise. My best analogy is mounting a large high end phone (better than any phone you've ever used) to a BMW 335 that was smaller, sleeker, and smarter. It does feel like the future from a UI perspective. My Cell Phone key seems to work quite well, but I think that's because I have a persistent Bluetooth watch that keeps the radio driver awake/active on my phone. So far, the thing that impresses me the most with the car is the aesthetic design. It's extremely sleek, modern, and attractive. The interior included.

I'm a bit nervous taking delivery at Fremont when I get the call, but sounds like the horrible experience threads I've read don't seem to be the norm. I'm definitely going to try to do a weekday delivery knowing that they do fewer cars during the week. I don't have a trade in and really hoping that I can get in and out pretty quick.

I would definitely encourage a weekday pickup. I physically watched ~6 Model 3's roll out of the lot with happy customers. My delivery specialist, Peter, was cordial and competent. He was moderately rushed, I'll admit that, but he also made it a point to say "I can be here all day for you if you would like." so that was nice.

Without a Trade-In it should go something like this: Inspect, sign sign sign sign, process (the time consuming part), inspect again/train, drive!

The car came with 170 mile charge and 6 miles on the odometer. I took it to the Tesla factory down the street and put 50 more miles on it via supercharge in 20 minutes. I believe it cost $3.

Were you a current Tesla owner when you ordered? Wondering because of your relatively late reservation date.

I wasn't. I was a little suprised how quickly they approached me for the order.

Joseph was your ISA!??? He was mine and I tried to get him to call me like a billion times but he refuses to. Only responded to my email a day later. He never picked up my calls either *sigh*

Might be more than one, but I talked to "Joey" once to schedule my pickup and that was it.
