Delivery scheduled without VIN

I’m just curious if anyone has had this. When I ordered my M3P in 2020, they assigned a vin first and then I could schedule delivery. Tesla reached out for my MYP asking me to schedule delivery for 12/31, but there’s never been a VIN. I confirmed the appointment and still can’t see a VIN anywhere in the app or in the account. Just wondering how likely is it that I’ll get a car and if I should cancel my NYE plans.

Is it possible to insure a car/get a plate without a VIN? I can't in my area but I don't know your local laws.

I’m in SoCal so guessing no. I’ll wait till the morning of to see what they are going to do.

any update? my hold comes off tomorrow and I do not have financing lined up yet...

Yea they assigned me a vin yesterday and delivery appointment for tomorrow still holds
