Design Proposal for Model 3 Front End

Is that a huge strip of chrome forming the grimace on your rendered model 3?

Its always been my opinion there is something missing about the look of the Model 3 front end.
I considered several designs, in keeping with the minimalist theme of the car. This is one still appeals to me

The reason the Model 3 doesn’t have grills, and lips, and air "intakes" on the front end is because they create drag and reduce range. Even the little frunk lip on the Model S creates some drag which is why the Model 3 doesn’t even have that.

No! its not intended to be stuck on with tape. It would be attached with threaded bolt washer and nut, and does not have to be chrome.

Where would the front license plate holder go? It would either have to hover on the bar or cover the T.

That's not going to help except for very low speed collision. In high speed collisions it would likely make it worse as a hard bar like that would prevent the crumple zones of the car from doing their job properly.

It's not. It's all about aerodynamics. Same reason the door handles don’t stick out. Tesla even tried to get the regulators to allow them to forgo side mirrors in favor of cameras, but they couldn’t get approval.

Tesla is straddling the line between aerodynamics and what people will accept in terms of aesthetics. If people didn't care at all what the car looked like then they'd likely look more like those bubble cars typically depicted in sci-fi movies.
