Designing a new USB Hub for Model 3

Right. I have to imagine that USB-c is coming to iphone soon! But for now this would not be useful for me, I'm afraid.

I'm not sure about this, but using Apple Lightning Camera Kit (USB OTG for Apple) with a USB A to USB C cable may work.

I think a microsd card option would be cool, I think other cars have used storage media like sd cards because they would go in flush with the car and not protrude like usb media would. I'd use this if I wasn't using the RPI 0 W.

No promises yet, but there maybe a possibility of accessing SD card contents over wifi without dongles or cables.

Would anyone be willing to replace the USB ports assembly in the center console?

There is a charger+data hub located behind the USB ports, which can be upgraded to one with more power. To remove it would require unscrewing the side trim panels.

Maybe, once the car is out of warranty. What are you thinking of?

I'm just thinking of replacing the assembly which is a module in itself. Something which is completely reversible. It's like switching out the inbuilt USB hub. Just need to unscrew the screws holding the USB assembly and screw,plug the new one in.

Ok cool. I would love to have 4 standard USB ports that isn't too expensive. For now I'll use a low-cost USB splitter.
