Another possibility: how old is the vehicle? (the older the better for this)
The Continental website says they have the manufacturing date molded into the sidewall
In this example, the 1617 shows it was made ten years after the first settlers arrived in the US so obviously a fake (that was a joke btw) it means the 16th week of 2017
so if you have a date code that's younger than your car, you know it WAS replaced
