Did Model S range get reduced from 335 to 315 miles?

Checking on the Tesla website today, the only reference to the Model S range of 335 miles is on the face page.

But going further into the configuration pages - the range for the Model Performance with/without Ludicrous mode now has been reduced to 315 miles.

The standard range of Model S remains at 310 miles.

This must be a typo. Otherwise paying $27,000 extra for a Performance model for 5 (!) extra miles and 1.1 sec reduction in 0 to 60 mph seems just a bit much isn't it?

I don't think it is a typo because that's what it says by EPA

So the 335 miles range is a TYPO then?

Regular Model S with extended range still rated at 335 miles.

You have Model S Performace selected which brings the range down to 315. It was like that before the naming change as well. 100D was rated for 335mi and P100D was 315 (regardless if it had ludicrous or not).

Well then its clear that the cover page is still showing 335 miles range was for the 100D - and that is the mistake.

I didn't include the images for the other two variations of the current Model S. The standard Model S has 310 miles range, and the Performance Model S has 315 miles - same as if the Ludicrous option is selected.

The main pages always show the best possible acceleration and ranges, despite the fact that you can't have both the best possible acceleration and range on the same car. 310 miles is the new software locked base Model S. You can selected extended range for $8000 more to unlock the full 335 miles. Model S Performance (aka P100D) has always been 315 miles, but you get quicker acceleration.

Duh! I missed that check box for extended range... it was in the same position as Ludicrous mode and I missed in the Standard model page.

Never mind
