Did tire shop mount this wrong?

On the left side the scooped edge faces forward. On the right side the blunt side faces forward. Not sure how we could re mount it, but I thought the scalloped edge faces forward.

I think they are correct. The wheels are all the same so left side of the car will have one look and the right the other look. It isn't noticeable as you can only see one side at a time...but I understand your concern. That's the price you pay for an asymmetrical design vs symmetrical designs that look the same on all four corners.

Nope just how it is. Tesla doesn't make left / right sided wheels, so any wheel that doesn't have a symmetrical design will look reversed.

I couldn't agree with you more. I have a blue 2020 M3 with the 19 inch "chrome" wheels and all "chrome" trim. It looks great. I've never liked black trim on any car, but blue with black trim and black wheels is just, well, black and blue. It looks like a rolling bruise! I may not buy another Tesla unless they give us chrome trim as an option.

On a Porsche, the pointy edge of the badge is supposed to point to the tire valve. It is part of the pre-delivery inspection checklist. Ask me how I know.

All of the EVs I've seen (and probably almost all cars) that have directional cues on the wheel end up going the opposite direction on the other side of the car because they just make all 4 wheels the same.

I think specifically blue and red looked really good with the light colored wheels.
