Disappearing VINs?

Some people on FB are reporting VINs disappearing and then reappearing with the same number. Mine is now gone but my delivery appointment is still showing on my Manage page. Any idea what could be the deal with this?

Yeah I know VINs can get reassigned sometimes, but it seems like something else is going on here. I don't have a MVPA yet (delivery is in 8 days) but had a VIN and still have the appointment showing

Have the same problem only this is the second time a vin has magically vanished. Full story is that I had one MY ready for delivery beginning June Vin # 6500. I asked for a 7 day delay, as I was in process of selling my car, and the Springfield NJ delivery center would not help me out and said I would have to wait for another MY. At that point I was ok with that and asked to add a hitch to my order. No problem, they said and I would not go to the back of the line and I should have a car within a short period of time. 2 or 3 weeks later Im assigned a new Vin # 185xx. Ok I thought, but 2 days later the Vin number is gone from my source code. I ask whats up and am told that the number I was assigned was in “error”. That’s ok because I know it was the end of the qtr and they gave the car to someone on the west coast so they could deliver it to pump up their numbers. I also was ok to get a car with a higher Vin as I was aware of all the delivery “issues” with the low Vin # cars. Two weeks ago I was assigned another Vin # 15xxx. I thought that this was weird and asked and was told that the numbers were not really sequential. Forward to today and my Vin has vanished again!!!
Would really like to have one the the cars but because they are SO DISFUNCTIONAL, don’t know what to do! If they treat me like this BEFORE they have my $$$$$, what are they like after. Might just bag it and buy the Porsche Macan instead.

Mine disappeared this morning also. Spoke to my delivery specialist who said the same vin is still assigned and no issues. Should be getting a call when they receive it.

You can try the chat. I went there first and they told me the vin was still assigned. I emailed the delivery specialist to confirm. They were the only ones who were able to figure out I was assigned a ghost vin 6 weeks ago. I’d still be waiting otherwise!

Yesterday they called and said my vehicle was not expected to arrive until 07/25, and they asked to schedule a delivery appointment for 07/26, which I did.

This morning I checked my order page and the VIN has disappeared. Based on so many other users having the same issue I’m not too worried, but will be calling the delivery specialist as soon as they open today.

I should note that my delivery appointment is still showing for 07/26 on my order page.

Is your VIN showing in source? Mine is missing on both the order page and source as of yesterday but still have my MVPA. Wondering if something was changed on the backend with code.

Good question and mines is totally wiped but since its many of us and not just one or two perhaps its a glitch

My VIN appeared this week after placing an order on 7/1 but than disappeared after 24 hours, spoke to my delivery specialist and they told me my VIN is still attached to my account and that the car is in transit. I should expect delivery soon in the next coming days.

Mine disappeared last week and just reappeared today. Car isn’t arriving at service center till 7/25(was originally 7/21). Pick up is still 7/27. So 75% chance it doesn’t show up on time.
