When I took delivery the display function is set to on, so when you open the door everything comes on. I would like to only have everything on when I get in the car and press the brake pedal. So I looked in the owners manual and went to control, settings and vehicle and looked for the display button which in the owners manual is next to the mobile app. On my car that area is blank. Does anyone else have this, and is there another way to disable the displays so that when you open the door the displays do not come on until you put you foot on the brake. I called Tesla and they checked another model s and it did not have the display on or off button either.

My delivery guy said there is no way to blank the center screen.
You can go dark using: http://teslatap.com/dark/
But that will not do what you want to do.

Actually if you go into controls e brake and power off you can shut off the displays, but once you open the door the displays come on automatically.

Tesla must think some of us are weird. I want a way to turn off the 17" while driving and a way to keep it (and the 12V) on while parked. I'm sure some engineer circle is laughing about it in their hallways.
