[DIY] Fast Qi wireless charger for S / X

First post here. :) I have just finished integrating the Qi charger to the center console tray and it works pretty well.

Some of my requirements:
- Drop and charge 10 out of 10 times for both by LG V60 and iPhone 12 Mini.
- 10W fast charge for the V60.
- Clean look.
- Easy to upgrade to 15W charger later on.
- Cheap. ;)

Materials:
- Center console tray $8. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07F7H1T2B/
- Qi fast charger from Amz, Craigslist.
I use the OEM Samsung charger that came with the S7. Easily find on CL for $10. This particular one has a built in fan and can do 5W \ 10W Qi.

- QC 3.0 car charger $5-$10 if you want fast charge. Otherwise, plug it into the car's USB port.
- Sand paper $2.
- Glue gun from dollar store $3.

Steps:
1. I sanded down the back to the tray to reduce the thickness.
Without sanding it, the phone in its case has a hard time engage with the charger. I kept sanding it down until the phone starts to charge in 1-2 second.

2. Glue it to the back of the tray. Try to position it to find the sweet spot. May not be an issue if you use a 2 or 3 coil Qi charger.

3. Profit.

nice job. if you are only charging your two phones, you could add a small divider to "capture" the iphone. the larger phone would sit on top, so it shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks. I have the Tesla Lighting dock as well so I may install it to use with the iPhone. I work near the Tesla Fremont factory so I need to run Waze all the time when driving. The amount of CHP on that freeway is nut!!!
