Do you notice your interior mirror dim at night?

Ever since delivery our car doesn't seem to dim its center mirror at night. Side mirrors do and it's very noticeable. I pinged local SC and they told me center mirror dimming level is set to 'mild' level, and later to be adjustable via software update. I'm thinking our center mirror dimming function is really non-functional but our SC is not willing to verify. And thinking about bringing in to make them swap the hardware. Do your gals/guys cars center mirror dim at night, is it noticeable (do you see the center part darken?)? Thanks in advance!

true?

first I've heard of it, but would be a welcome feature

I asked the SC specialists a couple of times, they both told me the same thing that there will be software update so we're not touching the mirrors at this point. I don't know how though, technically you can adjust the amount of darkening?

On the center mirror, I see no difference between the border and the center part at all. Not even slight tint of darkness. Sounds like our center mirror is non-dimming. I'll try again for them to seriously take a look and fix it if possible. Night driving is kind of bothersome with bright headlights.

Did you ever get any satisfaction on this, or get a new rear view mirror? I have had my 3 a bit over a week and have definitely noticed little to no dimming on the rear view. It’s quite annoying to drive at night with bright headlights in my eyes, and one of the only drawbacks I have noted on the car to date.

The dimming implementation is really poor right now. It doesn't seem to react very consistently at all.

Early on it was just based on time of day, not light levels at all. You could set your watch on when the side mirrors dimmed. I think Tesla omitted the simple light sensors other cars use and is trying to implement the feature via software. Similar to the auto wipers and rain sensing.

Only had my car since Sunday, but mine seems fine. Both my center (interior) mirror and driver's side (exterior) mirrors seem to be dimming in accordance with the light hitting it. If I remember correctly, the passenger side exterior mirror isn't supposed to dim. Is that correct?
