Elon said the Cd would have to be <0.2 but it doesn't look like it to me. IIRC he specifically ordered his engineers to do so. The Cd looks low but do you think its close to the GM Ev1 (Cd 0.195) or Volkswagen XL1? (0.189)

No. It probably is around the same as Model S. Maybe even higher.

How much is the Cx value of the Porsche Cayman? M3 value should be nearly the same?

The floor of the car plays a big deal too. Assuming the electric Teslas have a sleeker under body than the ICE look alikes. :)

Yeah you are right, the Cayman must have a messy under body

My guess is they will offer the 0.2 Cd version as an performance addon package
    > Side mirrors removed
    > Special hub caps + tires
    > Smart air suspensions that lowers the car beyond current minimum
    > Special rear spoiler as seen in the mercedez concept

It depends on whether or not the competing cars base their numbers on the whole car or just the body shell. Some--it used to be most--don't count the messy underbody at all.

Current US laws require at least one side mirror.

You are correct, Tesla tried to lobby for the change with the model X and I'm fairly confident they will try again if they can demonstrate the fully autonomous capabilities + side mirror cameras that it requires in 2018
