When my wife pull the M3 off our driveway, I saw this part laying where the car was. I am not sure if it has fallen off the car. Does anyone know what this part is? I look at the bottom and did see any uncover holes...
It appears the part number is at 7 o'clock on the lower pic. It's a Rev C version of the part.
It should be NNNNNNN-SN-S (7 numbers, a Char+number, Char.)
First where did you find it? It looks to me like the guard for the drive chain or belt for a garage door opener that would be located on the top of the unit.
I agree with those above it is the cover for the drive gear on top of garage door opener. I've installed enough to know. Google liftmaster drive gear cover.
Wow, thanks guys. Gotta love the internet and people that helps. I would have never guess its from the garage opener. I lube the chains every few months and never even notice there is a cover.
That's funny. I found the same part under my MY in my garage yesterday and have been googling around and wondering if this is from the car or from something else. Thanks to this thread I have some sort of relief that this is not the car's part.
