A friend from work just bought a 2016 Mazda CX-5 two days ago. Taken that this information is at least two levels of indirection, yesterday, he said, "I need to hook the car up to my Wi-Fi at home so it can get software updates in the future." I replied that it was news to me that a vendor other than Tesla did OTA software updates. I suspect this is just a misunderstanding of the features on the car, but is anyone aware that Mazda has this ability? If Mazda has OTA updates, I wonder if the updates are maybe limited to the infotainment system.
