Does tesla prevent EVSE from depleting powerwall during outages

Does Tesla's "Vehicle Charging During Power Outage" capability work for Tesla vehicles using a generic EVSE (with adapter) or will it only using the Tesla Wall charger?​

The setting for that is in the tesla app, and it works with gen 2 tesla wall connectors (which are not wifi enabled or otherwise connected to any network) so it should be controlling the car, not the evse.

I cant test it because I have a gen 2 wall connector, but can confirm the setting to set a percentage allowed to charge is in the tesla app, not anywhere in either the car, or anything the gen 2 wall connector currently does.

The setting exists for me. I use a JuiceBox as my EVSE. It required a specific version of software in the car. So all the evidence suggests that it doesn't require any integration with the EVSE.

Worked for my setup during PG&E PSPS events last year...my Model S charges off a Gen 1 mobile connector which is about about as dumb as they get. It seems to be all about integration between the Powerwall gateway, the vehicle(s), and some back-end logic at Tesla.

Thanks all. Suddenly occurred to me that this is a very testable question. Kill the incoming power and see what happens. Most likely will confirm the prior posts.

The communication happens between the PW and the car. The EVSE doesn't pay a role; instead, the car just asks for less power.
