Does the car format the entire flash drive if you make a partition for dashcam use?

Hey guys/gals,

Looking to put my dashcam/music/boombox/light show in a single flash drive, I was wondering if the car will format the entire flash drive when using the function to format for the dashcam. Would it format just the dashcam partition or the whole drive instead?

I wouldn't want the car to format the entire drive if I need to format it.
