Does the model 3 only have one working backup light or 2

I was behind my new model 3 when my wife was backing out, I know
it was a high risk thing to do. (please not try this at home)
Only one was working. Tesla said that we only get one.
When we send our German cars to the US they have two.
What is next, door handles only on one side of the car.

Interesting, It could be some setting, I rarely need a fog light
backing out.

My (Sept 2019, Australian) SR+ has one reversing light and a fog light on the other side. More recent SR+'s without foglights seem to get two reversing lights instead.

I think it depends on the country, European/UK/NZ/Au M3's only have one reversing light
The other rear light is a fog light which turns on when you switch on the fog lights
I think USA may have 2 reversing lights and no rear fog light

USA does not demand rear fog light and get two reversing lights.
EU demands rear fog lights therefore one reversing light is replaced with rear fog light.

This seems rather dangerous, you cannot see the
backup light from the other direction.

counting paper clips for the next 2.5 weeks
I guess it would not be so hard to turn on the
fog light as well when backing out.

I can only speak for myself but I see the reverse light just fine whether you have one or two. There are other cars as well with just one. I wouldnt call it dangerous.
