Does the P85+ (currently) have wider rear wheels?

    Design studio currently reads:
Months ago, the design studio mentioned wider wheels (text is quoted in old posts)... why change the description if they are still supplying wider wheels?

Has anyone looked at the wheel size stamp on the inside of the wheel and confirmed they have a 21x9 rear wheel?

Yes, with the + you get the wider rear tires--confirmed.

I think Dreamin is asking about the rims themselves. In which case I don't know.

Based on the handling comments in other threads it's 95% sure they have wheels with a wider rim width. If they used the same rim width, the handling wouldn't be so good.

I bought the wider rims for my P85.....Is the stamp on the inside to check? I wish the rim was 9.5 so I could use 285/30/21, the 265's are still "weak" looking.....Jerry33?!?!?

The most current specs for P85+ do indeed list 9.0Jx21 rear wheel. See my post here for more info: I want 21 Staggered Wheels for my P85 - Page 2

Also I know of no 265/35 tire that can fit by manufacturer spec on an 8.5" wheel. 9" is the minimum.

Usually the marking is on the outside of the wheel (outside meaning not the part hidden by the tire when it's mounted). However, there are exceptions.

Yes, there should be a stamp on the inside of one the spokes.

Sample stamp, not from a Tesla wheel:

In your linked post, you're referencing a Tesla manual which says the wheel size is 9". Can you post the title of that manual, or ideally a link.

FWIW, the currently published Tesla Manual with the 19" wheel size is wrong. The rear is not 9"

Sure, see below. You are quoting from the old 4.0 manual which does have a misprint but more importantly was before P85+. The new 5.0 manual can be downloaded from MyTesla and is much more comprehensive. In any case, it seems life is consistent with the specs.
