I'm not an attorney, but when I read this I immediately thought to myself it should now be ok for the geniuses like @wk057 and others to share/sell knowledge freely to allow us to work on our own cars?

Yes it is legal now, although others doing it for pay may have copyright problems.

It's not in the financial interest of WK or Ingineer to share knowledge. Plus they're terrified Tesla would close their access.

But there's an unfixable way in that some of us are working on.

Only for specified purposes. Commercial users wouldn't be exempt except to provide root. The finalized regs are not the best version and are ambiguous about anything beyond motorized land vehicles definitely include John Deere tractors. ;-)
