Don’t share info with 2nd driver?

Hello, I may have other people drive the Y.

is there a way they can get access to the car w/o seeing the driving history (esp location data) of the driver before them?

if I give them a key card, that changes their driver settings, but all the maps data is still there.

what happens if I create a second account for them via the new email invite? Then what do they get access to?

As far as I know, they will unfortunately see your visits to the Mustang Ranch :D
I created a 2nd account for my wife so she can do her own thing, but it appears we both see the driving history in the car, which of course is ok with us.
Perhaps someone else knows a trick to this.

haha, isn't usually the kids who wants to hide where they went, not the parents? it's not possible to hide. only thing you can do is delete your navi history. just delete any place you don't want people to know you been to. also, whoever has access to the car can view the car location anytime. sorry, the car is too smart, my wife text me often and ask me why am i still at work? haha.

Tesla should fix this. Can’t be a taxi with that kind of data sharing!

Well I would assume the robo taxi will be in something similar to the valet mode we have now where navigation functions is gone. Don't think that is something you would like since I assume you still want your driver to use navigation? I guess you can still kind of accomplish what you want to do by only giving the driver access to a key card and not the app and set it to valet mode every time that person drives. That person can always use their phone as navigation.

Sorry but your use case maybe only 1% of the people out there need. Most people don't mind sharing location of where they been if they trust that person enough to share the car with them daily. For the occasional time you don't want someone to access private information in the car, there is the valet mode.

I'm almost certain that when robo taxi is happening, there will be an update for that to hide your privacy, but that's still years away.

Perhaps. I just think location data, like calendars and contacts is something most people want private. Or at least have the basic option.
Ever hand your phone off to anyone?

(that said, will contacts, call history be visible to all drivers as well??)

it’s also like the 3rd party apps like Stats gang have all your driving info. Just not ideal to me...

Again if it's my family driving the car, I have no issue with them seeing who I called or where I went. I mean if there is really something I want to hide from my family (I don't), I can always erase that call or location from my history. Haha. Kind of a hard life to live if I constantly have to hide things from my family, right? I assume again most ppl who shares a car with their family has no issues with them finding out where they went. If someone have secret that need to hide daily, I think they have bigger issues. Privacy from outsider, yes. That's why there is valet mode build in.
