I made a short video of how I temporarily DIYed past a door handle issue until I get it fixed at the SC. Hope this is helpful.

1: Enter the car from the passenger side and open the door from the inside

2: Enter the car from the drivers side

3: Grab some cotton string or another type of string you might have lying around and measure how much you will need (I used about two arm lengths)

4: Tie loops at each end of the string

5: Thread the loops over the interior door handle

6: Pull the string tightly so it fits over the upper door corner

7: Pull to open

Thanks for watching

Fixing door mechanism is easy. I have 4 spares. The gear breaks, $1.20 at Tesla. 2 of my tiny micro switch harnesses broke off, they cost about 30 I forgot. It takes longer to get correct tools ready than actually changing the mechanism.
Oh, there is a Gen 1 for our antiques.. Gen2 for newer models. Window must be up all the way to get to bolts and you are in the car. Watch the you tube videos.
