We just brought home our Model Y last week. It's parked on a driveway that has a southwest exposure. My kids and I have both had times in the afternoons when the door handles got extremely hot from sitting in the sun. The kids were afraid to try and open the doors. I don't think it's hot enough to burn skin but it's been uncomfortable to handle. Do I have to pack a small towel or gloves to be able to open these doors as the temperature goes up? It's only spring so curious to hear what other people have done with these black handles during the summer.

You could try these stick-on handles. As they are made of plastic they won't hold as much heat.

I placed a white vinyl sticker on mines for 3 reasons; one is color match my car (which is white), and second, is to protect the black door handles from scratches, and third, to reflect the heat therefore minimizing high temperature on the handles.

Why would there be a lawsuit? Things get hot in the sun.
You haven't felt hot door handles until you have used these all metal door handles.
