Door Pillar Camera Blocked

I seem to get this message when the sun is shining brightly on one of my door pillar cameras. Do others get this message as well?

I did get this a few time on my 2017 MX.. on all occasions it was the sun directly hitting the camera and almost blinding it..

it went away a few moments later i made a turn or change in elevation..

This is the sort of pointless messages that are distracting to the driver and should not be presented. The car should be able to recognize a flare from something blocking the camera.

That's a different problem that just shouldn't happen. I've never had a problem with any of my lights, etc. fogging up on any other car I've ever owned. Just my Tesla.

I was having this issue until I removed the plastic protective film on top of the glass with a razor blade. Supposed to be removed before delivery. Haven’t seen it since.

There seems to be a bug in some of the later software. Don't worry about it.

We saw this message just yesterday. I thought the camera had been blocked by some rain or something but thinking about it now the driver's side was in line with the rising sun.

What if the problem is persistent wouldn't you want to know there is a problem with the camera?

I especially notice the error going off when the bright sun was right on it. Plastic film had scratches from the key card over the camera thanks to valet. I think the plastic film really does it’s thing when bright sunlight is right on it. Food for thought.

Seen same the last few days. Sun glare seems to be the issue.

This is one of the challenges using cameras for full self driving. Not sure software can overcome this, Tesla might need smarter hardware.

I’ve gotten this a few times recently. All recent cases have been when condensation collects on the windows on the side of my car in the early morning. My 3 is not currently garaged at night so it can develop some frost / morning dew overnight. I just had to wipe the condensation off and the message went away.

Full low sun on that side of the car.

Perfectly normal when the camera is being blinded by sunlight right in to it... It can't see any better than you can in a situation like that.

Never seen this message before but then saw it on two road trips in a row... both B pillar cameras were fogged up for some reason, even though it wasn't raining and I've literally never had this happen since I got the car. Started popping up after about 30 miles of driving successfully on NoA. Thankfully it went away pretty quickly after...
