Door shuts on all Tesla Models

Just for anyones information. Tesla have confirmed that door shuts on all models are not fully painted with top coat.
They wont entertain a return for respray as they say this is how the build was set up.They have refused to paint mine where the paint is missing. This applies to the inside roof of the rear boot as well

Paint must be very soft because i have loads of stone chip marks on the door sills already.

Do you have another car which doesn’t have mud guards? If so, clean both cars, then in good light take comparative pictures of the doorsills of both.

That being said, many cars do have mudguards on them which provides some protection of the rocker panels. Teslas don’t have these for aero reasons. If you want to add them, they are available. Or you can PPF the most vulnerable areas (in front and behind rear wheel, and behind the front wheel).

The not painting of the door jambs (the hinge side) is completely normal for Model 3 and you can find examples of other production cars where similar painting is (not) done. It should also be inconsequential as the metal is properly primed so there is no rust issue - and this area is invisible...
