What dragtimes is saying about the update:
Hopefully Tesla Motors will un-cripple the Tesla P85D soon and release the power and speed that it promised when they initially released the specifications back in October 2014 and started taking orders.
We’re looking forward to Tesla releasing more highway pulling power for the P85D, hopefully before our StreetCarDrags.com event on January 18th @ PBIR where we will have 12 Teslas racing heads up against themselves as well as a host of other exotic cars.

without an update, the P85D will without question lose to both the Audi RS7 and Mercedes E63s at the dragstrip in two weeks....
and the Hellcat as well, especially with a concrete launch pad, 1,000s of runs of rubber on pad, and sprayed down with "Moose Juice" (VHT)

I want to see the the P85D vs. a Hellcat in a REAL street drag (OEM tires, street asphalt, no pre-heating tires with a burn-out)
The P85D will easily beat it 0-60
The P85D will easily beat it 1/8 mile
The P85D will win?/loose? in 1/4 mile
